Mob guys love their nicknames. All types of crazy nicknames. But without a doubt some of the funniest nicknames were always related to food. And based on the Italian culture and their love affair with food, and how much mafiosi love to cook and eat, it all makes perfect sense, no?
This next challenge involves seven different mafiosi, from seven separate Cosa Nostra Families sprinkled throughout the United States. Each had an interesting and colorful nickname related to food.
Your job? — “should you choose to accept it” — is to identify the first and last name of each mafiosi, then match the (letter) of their nickname to the corresponding (number) of the Family or city they were affiliated with.
A) Sammy Meatballs B) Peanuts C) Peaches D) Tony Pepsi E) Sammy Strawberry F) Mr. Fish G) Jimmy Soda Pop
1) Bonanno 2) Colombo 3) Colorado 4) Chicago 5) Detroit 6) Gambino 7) Genovese
Have at it, guys. Let's see what you can accomplish with this one.

E-3 was Colorado associate Sam Foderaro, a bookmaker in Pueblo and the father of murdered member John Russell Foderaro

D-6 was Anthony “Tony Pepsi” Vitta (Gambino)
Born in Italy, after immigrating to the U.S. Anthony Vitta became a close associate of Gambino Family consigliere, Joseph N. Gallo. Subsequently, when the so-called "books" opened up in the mid-1970s, Gallo sponsored Vitta for formal membership into the borgata. He was placed directly "with" Gallo, and served his mentor faithfully for many years to come as his "aide" and enforcer.
"Tony" Pepsi largely remained a Queens-based soldier who was most active in Manhattan and the Astoria-Long Island City sections of Queens County, where Gallo and Vitta also happened to make their homes.
At one point, he also owned the Ravenswood Inn, a popular restaurant and bar located in the borough's Whitestone area.
Known as a capable strong-arm man and enforcer of Gallo's edicts, Vitta was also active in shylocking, extortion, and labor rackets for the family.

C-4 was Anthony “Peaches” DeLordo (Chicago)
Born in Chicago back in 1907, Anthony “Peaches” DeLordo, sometimes spelled DeLardo, was a longtime soldier of the Chicago Outfit. He also went by the nicknames “Peachy” and “Joe Fish.”
Well known to the Chicago PD as a strong-arm man and enforcer. Over the years he was repeatedly tried and acquitted for murder or attempted murder, and the intimidation of witnesses, with the last charge winning him a conviction and a 8-year prison term.
The Chicago Crime Commission and the FBI also reported that DeLardo was active in illegal gaming activities in conjunction with other Outfit members, and in fact, this group helped control the gambling rackets on Chicago’s South Side.
Federal agents also took note that he (quote), “owns a sizable block of stock in the Mercury Record Corporation, located at 35 E. Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL. (Mercury Records was a major recording label.)
He was on intimate terms with many fellow Outfit members, including a reportedly close friendship with section leader Frank LaPorte. --
...And then there were 3.

Anthony (Fat Tony) Rabito a.k.a Mr. Fish - Bonanno - Acting Consigliere John (Peanuts) Tronolone - Cleveland - Boss Anthony Rabito (Bonanno) is correct, Butchie. But "Peanuts" Tronolone, of Cleveland, is wrong. Thats why I also list the "cities or Families" these guys were connected with, because as you know, many guys had similar nicknames. This quiz has nobody for "Cleveland" listed. Still, good job. Take another shot at it. From the remaining crews, who was "Peanuts" ??

B-2 - Michael (Peanuts) Savino - Soldier in Joe Colombo’s Crew when he was a Captain sorry I remember you said at times The Numbers and Letters didint matter and I’m 99 Percent sure this is the Guy ! To my knowledge, Mike Savino was not known as Peanuts. So no, thats not the guy. But since you gave it the "ole college try" and took two shots at him, I'll reveal who this was, ok? B-2 was Nicoline "Peanuts" Sorrentino, a little talked about, old-line Colombo Family soldier. - ......only 1 mystery mob guy remains. Who was Jimmy Soda Pop?

Colombo Family 1963
Joseph Colombo (40y) (Brooklyn)
Soldiers
* Michael ‘Peanuts’ Savino (55y) * Modesto ‘Duke’ Santoro (55y) * Rocco ‘Rocky’ Miraglia (37y)
Interesting. As I had mentioned, I never saw Mike Savino with that nickname, or any other, for that matter. He's typically just listed as either Michael or Mike Savino. (I guess you learn something new every day.) lol. Regardless, the "Peanuts" for the challenge was Nick Sorrentino. -- As for the last nickname in question, or G-5, that was Vincent “Jimmy Soda Pop” Randazzo (Detroit) Born in Sicily in 1903, Randazzo was an original member of the Zerilli Family, who was active primarily in the gambling rackets. He acquired his underworld moniker because he owned a place called "Jim's Soda Bar" which he conducted his activities from. - That about wraps up this particular challenge....until the next one. Ciao!
