This is the kind of shit that make people claim that street gangs have taken over or replaced the Mafia, because they're leaving bodies on the streets and the mob isn't. As if that really means anything.

The US Government now uses RICO against street gangs so when you hear that is the reason the mob doesn't leave bodies in trunks anymore is a bunch of bullshit.

This is what happens when your leaders become older and don't want to be bothered by the FEDS. Are there guys who would be willing to lay someone out and stuff them in a trunk if called upon? ABSOLUTELY. The problem is that they can't go against their superiors and just start killing people. It would have to be sanctioned before it was done and thats the difference you are seeing here.

They might be more violent and don't give a fuck, but they're generally not making the money that the mob does, nor are they tied in any way into business and politics. I think the mob has more to lose than street gangs, in my opinion. Street gangs are made for prison, oftentimes their membership transfers to prison gangs and they love it, it's like a graduation present!
