Angelo has always been a popular and very traditional first name for Italian parents to name their child. Especially generations ago. The name Angelo, quite literally, translates to “Angel” — or, the angelic one. Of course, when it comes to mafiosi, that translation can sometimes be a bit hard to swallow. Lol.

Nonetheless, each of the following eight mafiosi did indeed have Angelo as a first name. In turn, each of these eight hoodlums came from eight different Mafia Families.

Your job? — “Should you choose to accept it” — is to identify the true first and last name of each mafiosi, then match the (letter) of their nickname, to the corresponding (number) of the Family or city they were affiliated with.

A) Angelo A.
B) Quack Quack
C) The Brush
D) Don Angelo
E) Angelo G.
F) Angelo S.
G) Bloody Angelo
H) Chester

1) Bonanno
2) Chicago
3) Colombo
4) DeCavalcante
5) Detroit
6) Gambino
7) Genovese
8) Lucchese

I see you just added Spata. But he's not the Colombo guy in question.

Still, you did very well. Because the other four you named are spot on correct!

.....So it's 4 down, with 4 to go.

The Colombo guys was F-3, Angelo Speciale (Colombo)

Born way back in 1909, Angelo Speciale was one of the earliest known New Jersey-based soldiers of the old Joe Profaci Family.

In all honesty, Butchie, who could blame you for not knowing this particular guy. After all, aside from a few old FBI charts and government memos, there was really very little ever written or researched about Speciale….and I dug deep to pull his name out of my sock for this challenge (since you’re banging them out of the park so well, lol)

Well, you have definitely impressed me, thats for certain. IMO, few here would have been able to nail as many as you have over these dozens of challenges. So kudos to you.

D-1 was Angelo “Don Angelo” Salvo (Bonanno)

Angelo Salvo was an original Bonanno Family soldier dating back to the Castellammmarese War years. He was a low-keyed, but highly respected member who was eventually elevated to a “capo di decina” position.

H-7 was Angelo “Chester” Iacone (Genovese)

During the early 1960s, Angelo “Chester” Iacone was identified by the FBI as a Massachusetts-based Genovese Family soldier. He also happened to be a son and crew member of a highly-respected Genovese Family member named Francesco “Frank” Iacone, who was that borgata's resident capodecina for the City of Worcester, MA for many decades.

A-5 was Angelo Abate, who was said to have been a member of the Joseph Zerilli Family of Detroit, MI.

Abate wraps up this challenge….Onward and forward.
