Name some guys out there in the past or present who the media tried to portray as being more important than they actually were.

Seems to me we are facing a generation where the media really doesn't have a clue who really is made or not.

I have been accused of this so many times. I go into a restaurant wearing my double breasted Brioni suits and pinky rings always looking like I'm about to motherfuck the waiter. I look the part

I can name a few guys who falsely claim to be made :
- Ron Previte : I don't think the Philly Family accepted to make a former cop.
- Mark Silverman : an Jewish_Italian gangster who claimed to have been made by the Patriarca. Never happened
- Ralph Natale : claimed he was made in a private ceremony by Carlo Gambino and Angelo bruno themselves. That was bullshit but Joey Merlino eventually made him.

I also don't believe John Veasey was made by Philly.

I know of two but only one of them "claimed" to be made:

Raynald Desjardins (he's never claimed it as far as I know)
Juan Ramon Fernandez (claimed he was made while in Sicily just before he was killed, he claimed Raynald was made too)

John Veasey couldn't be made because his father wasn't Italian. Although ironically, Tommy DelGiorno DID get made even though his mother was Polish.
