Any relation to Genovese soldier Jimmy Alto, who also had a club in Little Italy ? It's possible I guess, but not to my knowledge. We just always knew it as the Alto-Knights S.C. (It had that stencil on the window) And they had a "members only" sign on the door. lol. (naturally) Everybody who was affiliated with that crew, who was anybody, hung out there at one time of another. And I mean everybody! Most days you'd see guys all dressed up standing on the sidewalk, just bullshitting and doing business. On nicer days, warmer weather, wiseguys would bring the wooden card table chairs outside on the pavement, and sit around.

The Alto-Knights was a real place, located Downtown Manhattan's Little Italy neighborhood. It was a mob social club, probably THE mob social club as far as the old Luciano/Genovese/Costello Family went. It was there for many decades. From at least the 1930s through the 1970s era (that I remember) --- And it could have been there even longer than that. Some sources say the club was founded in 1926 first as the Alto Knights Social Club (after an old street gang during Prohibition). It's interesting they used "Knights" it has a masonic/fraternity touch.

I'm not trying to sound disrespectful to his age, but Robert DeNiro has no business playing mobsters unless it's mobsters in their twilight years. He and Al Pacino were horrible for The Irishman for that reason. Joe Pesci too. But not just anyone can portray Mafiosi, maybe that's why they keep getting these roles. I actually like The Irishman. No Goodfellas.or or Casino but on par with The Departed and Gangs of New York.
