The criminal underworld loves nicknames. And among the most colorful and popular of these nicknames had to do with all sorts of animals.

This next challenge involves eight different mafiosi, from eight separate and distinct Cosa Nostra Families sprinkled throughout the United States. Each guy had a nickname related to an animal of some sort.

Your job? — “Should you choose to accept it” — is to identify the true first and last name of each mafiosi, then match the (letter) of their nickname, to the corresponding (number) Family or City they were affiliated with.

A) Tommy the Bull *
B) Joe Chick *
C) The Bear *
D) The Chicken Man *
E) Joe Tiger *
F) The Turtle *
G) Jimmy the Bat *
H) The Parrot

1) Bonanno *
2) Bruno *
3) Buffalo *
4) Chicago
5) Colombo *
6) DeCavalcante *
7) Gambino *
8) Genovese *

* means revealed

I'll go with the easy one.

D-2 : Phil "The Chicken Man" Testa

He was made at a very young age and rose pretty quickly. Had the honour of being mentioned in a Bruce Springsteen's song.

A-8 was Thomas “Tommy the Bull” Pennachio (Genovese)

Pennachio dates back to the days of boss Lucky Luciano himself. In fact, he later got indicted along with the boss and others for operating the infamous city-wide prostitution racket that later sent Lucky up-the-river for conspiracy. Tommy the Bull was said to have helped soldier "Little Davy" Petillo oversee, control, and subsequently extort New York’s various whore houses on behalf of Luciano and the mob.

E-6 was Joseph “Joe Tiger” Sferra (DeCavalcante)

Sferra was a 1950s-1970s member of the Sam DeCavalcante Family, of Elizabeth. Over the years he served in the capacity of a labor official for a mobbed-up Hot Carriers Union controlled by that borgata. Joe was event removed from his post by his DeCavalcante for a series of personal indiscretions and ignoring the needs of his fellow mafiosi.

G-5 was James “Jimmy the Bat” Cardiello (Colombo)

Jimmy the Bat, or, Jimmy Bats, was a veteran Joseph Profaci Family soldier who later sided with the breakaway Gallo brothers faction against the Family. Together with his brother, Joe Bats, also an inducted soldier, the “Bat Brothers” became key supporters of the rebel insurgents until Joe was later shot to death during the height of gangland warfare one afternoon in Bay Ridge.

Only The Parrot, of the Chicago Outfit, is left.

Now guys, don't you dare tell me that nobody here can figure this last guy out. He was such a well known Outfit figure that this is actually a hanger.

Come on, fellas! I know you can do a lot better than this! lol.

H-4 was Rocco “The Parrot” Potenza (Chicago)

Rocco Potenza was a member of the Outfit who was raised and reared in “The Patch,” a heavily Italian section of Chicago where future boss Sam “Mooney” Giancana and many fellow Outfit members first cut their teeth as kids. As a young man, Potenza allied himself to the up-and-coming Giancana who later became something of a mentor to Potenza.

Aside from several other criminal pursuits like running a B-girl clip joints for Mooney, Rocco Potenza found he was quite adapt at the gambling rackets and eventually became one of Giancana’s top bookmakers and something of a specialist at running dice and card games.
