A FORMER Barcelona dock worker has been killed execution-style while having a coffee after he had dropped off his son at school. David Caballero Riera, who also coached a local futsal club was shot in the back of the head outside the Trastevere cafeteria in Montgat around 9am on Friday morning. Witnesses reported that a man ‘of Latin origin’ pulled up on a motorcycle, fired twice from behind, and then drove away. The Mossos d’Esquadra erected police controls at various roads and intersections in an effort to catch the killer. The assassination has not surprised legal sources in Catalunya, who have frequently tried to prosecute Caballero for various narco trafficking offences. A well-known character at the Port of Barcelona, he had been investigated for his involvement with ‘corrupt mafia’ a number of times. However, he has always managed to wriggle away from prosecution amid rumours that he was a high-level confidential informant. Only last December he went to trial for his involvement in a brawl in the stands of a five-a-side football match in 2022 when he was president and coach of the Barceloneta Futsal futsal team. It has been reported that he stepped away from working in the port directly a few years ago, and instead had been managing a luxury car dealership since 2021. Catalan police are investigating the motive for the crime, although it suggests a settling of scores linked to drug trafficking. https://www.elliberal.cat/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Imagen-15-11-24-a-las-13.24-768x531.jpeg

2 years ago The Sinaloa cartel, commonly described as the largest and most powerful drug-trafficking organization in the Western Hemisphere, has already extended its ties in the Balkans to the European continent, report the media the foreigner, Telegrafi reports.
Intelligence reports from the federal government detailed that Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, who is perhaps the top leader of the Sinaloa cartel, recently formed alliances with the Albanian mafia, specifically the Luftar brothers, Arben, Fatos and Ramiz Hysa.
The joint plan of both criminal organizations, separated by more than 10,600 kilometers, is to launder millions of dollars profited from illegal business through real estate and investments in the coastal tourism sector of the Balkan peninsula.
The lack of controls by the Albanian authorities for money laundering would have been the main factor that attracted "Chapo" Guzman's friend to that Eastern European country.
The four brothers from Albania with whom "El Mayo" would have agreed to manage a network of casinos and businesses in Sonora, Baja California and Quintana Roo, through which they launder millions of euros from organized crime, El Universal's report detailed.
Mexican authorities revealed that the Sinaloa Cartel is currently in the middle of a significant financial deal with Albanian mobsters. It would be several million dollar transfers through front companies based in the European country.
Between 2018 and 2020, of those arrested for cocaine trafficking in Europe, 266 had Albanian citizenship, followed by Brazilians (257) and Colombians (168). The next European country to appear on the list was the Netherlands, in eighth place, with only 51 citizens detained.

Didnt know they were very active in Europe Far as I know there are no Brazilians operating in Europe as a gang, but plenty of European criminal organizations source cocaine from Brazilian crime groups. Gangs like PCC and CV have been getting active in overseas cocaine shipments. Like the Colombians the Brazilian groups also have begun to operate from other South American countries that don't traditionally have big sophisticated homegrown criminal organizations like Paraguay, Peru or Uruguay. They do send plenty of emissaries to Europe - especially to Portugal and Spain - so I'm guessing that's where the number comes from.

Aldo was in the milieu known as the pig. He speaks also Dutch, Portuguese and English. At the age of 20, Aldo left for the Netherlands, where he started working as a restaurateur in Amsterdam. He ran a Chinese restaurant, and later opened his own Italian trattoria called Le Delizie, on the Vijzelgracht. If that proved successful, he later opened another one, in Amsterdam-Zuid. He lived with his wife and three children in Amstelveen.
