I get tired of every time a mobster is caught wearing shorts, people start with their stupid "dons don't wear shorts" comments. These idiots take what a fictional mob boss in a fictional show said a little too seriously. Even if he was a real-life mob boss, that's just HIS opinion.

There are a number of bosses who wore shorts and there are pictures of it. Luciano, Bonanno, Trafficante, Paul Ricca, Jack Dragna, Scarfo, Gotti, Amuso while out on the streets during the summer. There should be one rule, if your fat or heavy set don't wear a speedo to the beach in public like Fat Tony (Genovese), and Fat Lou (Decavalante) unless it is in your own castle.

Agreed. A nice pair of dress shorts are totally acceptable.

There are some old school guys who never wore shorts unless they were on the beach or at the pool
and in my opinion that is fine. To each their own.

Even today's newcomer immigrants from all sorts of countries are rarely seen in shorts.

Exactly right. Shorts were an American fashion style for the most part. It was not a European thing.
