Solly D of the Chicago mob, I highly doubt he is running things right now. He's not even active if I was to guess.

Much respect to him and his career but I firmly believe he is retired. So if that is the case, who is truly the real guy right now running things for the Chicago Outfit?

I wonder why more isn't being brought to light about Italian syndicates from Italy operating over here. The Ndrangheta is active over here for sure, but these groups are operating on a much higher level from the Goodfellas-style crime we think of whenever we think of mob activities. I hope this year brings some fruitful busts.

a good question rush, my guess would be as others have said salvatore cataudella, albert vena or frank m. caruso (the father). these 3 are the most senior members who are still mentioned as being at the very least capos.

i will ask though if delaurentis is not BOSS and hasnt been for a time as some claim, what position if any does he hold?
my guess would be senior advisor, a role similar to that which john difronzo and later marco d'amico are said to have held before their deaths. in my opinion delaurentis has held this role since the apr 2020 death of d'amico.

but oh how the role has changed, in the past the outfit top brass would send messages from on high about new rackets, murders to be carried out and new inductions of members...now we get "stay off social media ya mooks."

The top guys in the Outfit stay off social media. But Solly D is on there, so I ask why? Why the fuck would you be on social media as a boss? Another red flag in my honest opinion in regards to his current status as boss of the Outfit.

Nick Ferriola is not on social media, nor is Sammy Cards or Frank Caruso. Franks kid about 9-10 years ago was (his posts reminded me of the cartel kids down in Mexico being flashy) and his account was deleted shortly after. He was posting photos of his house and possessions such as luxury sports cars that his father obviously paid for as Frank Jr. didn't have the income at that time in his life to buy all those things himself. Today possibly? Yes as he's is a much different position now than he was 10 years ago.

I imagine his father found out and wasn't very happy with his social media bullshit.

I also firmly believe that if Solly D is involved still he's only acting as advisor and will lend his advice on certain business decisions if asked to do so, all hypothetical of course. Other than that, he's living a nice life legitimately and at peace with his family and close friends that he as left who are not connected whatsoever.

I believe also that just up to a few years ago, Jimmy Inendino was acting boss of the entire organization, not Solly D.

There's no official word on who the current Boss is but it all points to Salvatore DeLaurentis.

james inendino was mentioned as either a capo, the underboss or boss up until his 2023 death. there would have been zero reason for the outfit to have an acting boss from about 2007 and on. the leadership seemed pretty stable actually coming out of the fam secrets trial sarnos arrest aside. as to who was in charge is another issue but there was enough senior respected members on the street making the prospect of an acting boss a non issue.
