Well if you put 2 and 2 together, its for the simple fact that the guys that were killers are fucking dead now. The guys that are left ran rackets that were non violent.

How are you supposed to get anyone to kill anybody if in fact there is no one willing to do the job to begin with? Its not like you can teach a guy to do dirty work when he's 70 years old and has specialized in Unions his entire career. Killing and getting away with it takes skill and an individual who is mentally capable of carrying it out successfully. This has had a huge impact on what kind of rackets the mob is involved in today which are way more white collar than ever.

This is just my opinion.

I don't see why mob buffs aren't more interested in other brands of organized crime. Read about the Albanian, Russian, Armenian, and Greek mobs and you don't find not a single rat. They get busted, everyone keeps their mouth shut. With the Italian groups, on the other hand, there's at least 2-5 rats with every bust. With the American Mafia, guys are flipping over gambling charges, so how can they be trusted to stay quiet when murders are involved?

60s, 70s, even 80s you could get away with murder. In 2025 it's much tougher. Black gangs back then were also much more violent as now.

I read Russian news from time to time, and organized crime there is actually full of rats, in most organized crime trials I read about (although it usually isn’t above mid-level gangsters, the biggest ones usually don’t get prosecuted, since the main gangsters are in charge of the country anyway). However, if they get arrested in other countries, there are almost no informants indeed, at least in the last years.

Willie Marfeo to Henry Tameleo:

2) "Get out of here, old man. Go tell Raymond to go shit in his hat. We're not giving you anything."

Perhaps you're right. Mafiosi have found out that they have a guaranteed get out of jail free card and even a nice retirement if they help the feds take down the right people. It's sickening and I wish there was no more cooperation deals. You wanna solve a case? You're gonna have to get out there and do it the old fashioned way and do detective work.

Killing today requires much more preparation than before.
You have to be careful of security cameras, steal cars and turn off GPS and still risk being filmed by someone with a cell phone or video intercom.
Look at DiPietro murder in Philly.
Nicodemo decide to dont flip but the LE put a bounty on a masked man that killed DiPietro.
Another example was Charles Stango that would use the bikers to kill Olivieri (but got the undercover cop) or mobsters that thinked to use the Bloods to whack someone.
