Fugitive Dutch drug boss Marco Ebben has been murdered in Mexico. This is reported by media in that country. He was reportedly shot dead by two men on Thursday morning in the town of Atizapán, near Mexico City. Ebben had previously been shot and declared dead, but at the time there was a suspicion that he could escape threats in this way. There are few things in life that are certain, except that you have to pay taxes and that you only die once. Unless your name is Marco Ebben! Last December we already wrote that the 32-year-old drug dealer from Schiedam had been shot dead in Mexico, where he was trying to escape the hands of the Dutch authorities and was fighting in a gang war between two rival drug cartels, but now it turns out that he was shot dead again yesterday afternoon! How is that possible? Apparently he wasn't dead at all! It was a trick to distract his enemies. This time, however, photos are circulating showing Ebben lying on the ground in a parking garage in Meggico in a pool of blood with a wound to his head. Also, reliable media in Mexico write that an ID was found with his body, which, oddly enough, is said to be from the DEA, the American anti-drug organization Drug Enforcement Administration. That thing is completely fake of course, also because the name on it, under a passport photo of Ebben, is not his real name. Apparently, Ebben went through life in Mexico as Velazquez Rivas Jesus Antonio from El Paso, Texas. He was said to be a 'Special Agent In Charge'. The murder is said to have been committed by two men on Jorge Jiménez Cantú Avenue in the town of Hacienda de Valle Escondido, near Mexico City. The body was found in a parking garage at a shopping center there. According to residents, a shooting took place in the neighborhood. Local media write that the residents of the complex where Ebben's body was found have been asked to stay indoors. For their own safety and so that the police and even the navy have all the time and space to find the hitmen. He is said to have been killed with fifteen bullets. This time, it seems that Ebben is really dead. Not least because the murder has now been confirmed by the Mexican authorities. The Dutchman is said to have had close ties with the Mexican top criminal Ismael Zambada García, better known as El Mayo, the co-founder and former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel. Ebben had been on the run from the Dutch authorities for years. He still had to serve a long prison sentence here. He is said to have entered Mexico on a Russian passport. https://images.hln.be/ZTUyNTg2YjdkN...xicaanse-media-doodgeschoten-in-atizapan

He had been presumed dead for some time now. The case has caused surprise since in September 2024 it was reported that Ebben had been killed in Culiacán, Sinaloa, during a confrontation in support of La Mayiza, a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. However, new investigations have confirmed that at that time he managed to escape and take refuge in the State of Mexico.
His criminal record: from Europe to Mexico Marco Ebben was not an isolated criminal. His father Henk Ebben was a well-known drug dealer in the Netherlands involved in the smuggling of hashish and methamphetamines. They both headed the Rainforest organisation, which specialised in transporting drugs to England.
In 2020, Europol sentenced him to seven years and four months in prison for drug trafficking; he was accused of bringing 400 kilograms of cocaine into the Netherlands between 2014 and 2015, hiding the drugs in shipments of pineapples from Brazil.
However, he managed to escape and became one of the most wanted fugitives in Europe. Over the following years he moved between Spain, Dubai, Italy and Turkey. After being wounded in an attack in June 2024, he obtained a Russian passport and fled to Mexico, where he was identified by photographs alongside La Mayiza hitmen.
His role within the Sinaloa Cartel More than just a common drug trafficker, Marco Ebben operated as a key intermediary in the logistics and finances of the Sinaloa Cartel. His command of six languages ??allowed him to become a direct link for “El Mayo” Zambada for drug trafficking in Europe and Asia.
Ebben played a key role in acquiring advanced weaponry for the cartel, including restricted-use weapons not even available in the United States. He also coordinated cocaine shipments from Latin America to the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Turkey, and managed investments in offshore companies for money laundering.
It was a priority target for the authorities Sources consulted by Balderas revealed that the Navy (Semar) had been monitoring Ebben's movements for some time, suggesting that his capture was imminent.

'Marco Ebben murdered by acquaintances to prevent him from being questioned by the police' Jurjen Roerdinkholder
Adjusted: Today, 10:26Today, 06:36in Domestic
The wanted Dutch criminal Marco Ebben was about to be arrested. Just before Mexican police officers could arrest him, he was murdered by his own people. That is what Mexican media write. The shooters (or their clients) are said to have feared that the drug criminal, convicted in the Netherlands, would talk too much under pressure.

Marco Ebben is said to have been murdered in Mexico.
According to Mexican media, Ebben, who was 32, was murdered by three armed men last Thursday shortly before noon as he walked to his armored SUV in Atizapán, a municipality in the 22 million-strong Mexico City metropolitan area. The Dutchman lived in the Rancho San Juan neighborhood, just a few minutes away from the shopping center where he was shot.

Drug criminal Marco Ebben declared dead again: 'His father has now lost his son twice' Although the murder of the Schiedammer has not yet been officially confirmed by the Dutch authorities, four suspects have been arrested in Mexico.
Stories in the Mexican press suggest that the hit squad knew about Ebben's impending arrest in Atizapán and anticipated it. The city council had discovered that the Dutch criminal had settled in Rancho San Juan after he had come to Mexico to fight in Sinaloa in the cartel war between the two main factions of the Sinaloa cartel.
Marco Ebben participated in the fight between drug cartels In the gang war between the factions of the sons of the drug barons Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán and Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada, who were imprisoned in the United States, Ebben fought on the side of the latter under his alias El Holandés. El Mayo and Ebben had been doing business together for eight years.
The Dutchman reportedly helped to get drug shipments to Europe. He would also supply weapons from Europe to the Sinaloa cartel, especially to the faction of Ismael Zambada.
In October 2024, father Henk Ebben was already in mourning after reports that Marco had died during a gunfight between rival drug gangs in Sinaloa. There were already doubts about that at the time. The police thought it was a set-up to make him disappear from the police radar.
After his death, which according to Mexican media was faked, Ebben went into hiding in Atizapán, one of the most prosperous places in the country. He pretended to be a businessman. From the suburb of Mexico City, he continued his activities for La Mayiza, as the El Mayo faction is called.

Family fears for life of wanted top criminal Marco Ebben, but police also consider other scenarios What he did not know is that Atizapán is one of the few municipalities in Mexico where the police falls under the Ministry of the Navy. And the navy in Atizapán is not made up of sailors but of elite troops specialized in eliminating organized crime. Ebben, who went by the alias Jesús Antonio Velásquez Rivas in Mexico, had hidden in the lion's den.
Daily routine Marco Ebben The anti-crime agents of the navy had been keeping an eye on Ebben for some time and knew his daily routine by heart, according to Mexican media. They wanted to arrest him in the middle of the day on Thursday, February 13, when the Dutchman, as he did almost every day, went to the Sports World gym. But the three murderers were ahead of the anti-crime team. Less than fifteen minutes before Ebben was to be arrested, he was reportedly shot dead in his sportswear while walking to his SUV.

Wanted criminal Marco Ebben surfaces in Mexico: 'Takes part in war in Sinaloa cartel' "Apparently they discovered that the army was after him," someone involved in the Europol investigation told the daily newspaper Mileno. "It is not yet known who wiretapped the criminals and how. But my impression is that they killed him to prevent him from being interrogated and telling everything he knew."
"That is a logical explanation if you look at how Ebben was murdered. He was killed as if he were an ordinary criminal, while he was a heavyweight, a 'peso pesado'," says the same source. "I believe that Ebben trusted his murderers and that is why he could not defend himself.

His last interview he gave from his hiding place in Russia: "It's a witch hunt against me. I don't know this Van Uffelen at all. I've never met him." When we video call, we see Marco Ebben in a small room with a poster of Putin on the wall. "My girlfriend's family here are fans." Only his eyes are visible, he is wearing a black balaclava and a cap. "My appearance has changed a bit since the last photos that were in circulation.
The camera pans to two automatic weapons, an AK-47 Kalashnikov and an M4 carbine. On one copy are the initials ME, in the other, gold-colored with the Dutch flag, his full name is engraved.
“Apart from my father, who might not recognize me anymore, I have no business in the Netherlands. Cold, annoying people (he bursts out laughing), not for me. I hardly talk to anyone in the Netherlands anymore. With my lawyer, with you now. I like being on my own.”
I have a very rich in-law family, both in Russia and in Italy. They are part of the government and I do my bit within those families. Let's leave it at that. I won't say more, that will be interesting for the Public Prosecution Service. Soon they will also start harassing my in-laws and they have to stay out of everything. Just like my father. He is an old man of 72, he has served his sentence. Leave that man alone for once.”
