Depending upon how its applied, this can be a potential game changer. This will get very messy very fast and has the potential to hit (innocent) American citizens as well (depending on the drone strike). Not to mention the bureaucratic mess of all these American companies doing business with/in Mexico that will get caught up listed as doing business with a terrorist organization. The drug world is anything but black and white. This makes for good optics to some, but is a clusterfuck waiting to happen.

For me Trump should send the army for destroy the cartels killing men by men like Cesare Mori in 1920s in Sicily. Yeah, cause Mori totally succeeded in wiping out the Mafia causing it to never ever return Worked like a charm alright. We are supposed to learn from history, not repeat it over and over.

Yeah, cause Mori totally succeeded in wiping out the Mafia causing it to never ever return Worked like a charm alright. We are supposed to learn from history, not repeat it over and over. I think Mori's main mistake was to declare all those big aristocratic landowners as "victims" of the mafia "gabellotti" who oversaw their estates. Those landowners were ordering mafia murders themselves and in many cases were the real power. Leaving them alone while fighting the "lower" mafia, was rather pointless imo, even though Mori managed to hurt a number of mafia groups whose leaders didn't manage to get the Fascist party "blessing" for their activities.

2) "Get out of here, old man. Go tell Raymond to go shit in his hat. We're not giving you anything."

Correct and thats why we bomb them. In history its never been done before. Drones are good because you can take out a single target and not kill innocent people.

Well, I do agree with you that it "makes for good optics," but, potentially, I disagree as far as the success, or, as you say, "but is a clusteruck waiting to happen." A lot has to do with how the administration approachs the problem, how much is verbal bluster and postering, and just how much they really wanna hone in on these guys. The true resolve they have. Thats why I prefaced my thoughts with, "Depending upon how its applied." Because, truth be told, it could become a "game changer" in ways both good and bad. You know what I mean?

Morì was stopped by Mussolini when wanted to pass to low level mafiosi to the bosses and the landowners but Mussolini gave order to let him in peace. So if would start a war against the cartels we must point to the men in hierarchy and not the street level thugs.

I agree with many points you make, but the so called War on Drugs is already a clusterfuck enough is enough. The most powerful country in the world can do more about it, but people will always do drugs just like they drink alcohol.

How will innocent American citizens get hit? Most of these idiots take over towns and there are hardly any innocents left there and a drone strike would be perfect to take out a ton of those shitheads. These dudes are not going to be targets when they go to the mall or the McDonald's drive thru And I agree Rush, that bitch is crazy if she honestly thinks she can scare Trump away from hitting these idiots and if he does something she doesn't like what the hell is she going to do? Absolutely nothing!

This could led to tensions with Venezuela whille everybody is more focused on Mexico. Tren de Aragua, or TdA, has emerged as one of the most feared and dangerous transnational gangs in the Americas. Recently declared a terrorist organization by the Trump administration, this Venezuelan gang was created in the Penitentiary Center of Aragua, in Venezuela. As it rapidly expanded right across Latin America by taking advantage of migrant flows, it now poses serious security threats in major cities of the continent. Straight out of jail, the origins of Tren de Aragua Tren de Aragua was founded by Hector Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, a Venezuelan criminal born in Maracay, Aragua State, in 1983. Known as ‘Niño Guerrero’ (Warrior Child), Hector Guerrero started his criminal career as a teenager, first as a drug trafficker and later as a hitman. Incarcerated in 2010 for homicide and drug trafficking, he managed to escape in 2012 but was recaptured a few months later in 2013. During this second incarceration, he formed Tren de Aragua, an alliance between various criminal gangs present in the Penitentiary Center of Aragua, known as Tocoron Prison. https://colombiaone.com/2025/02/20/tren-de-aragua-venezuelan-gang/
