I visited beautiful, gritty Budapest for the first time in the early 90s not long after the end of the Cold War. It's now a melting pot where East meets the West. A growing number of – mostly conservative-right – Dutch people are emigrating to Hungary, they flee Holland because of the immigrants and because of the low house prices. For less than half a ton you can buy a nice house in Hungary.

Ukrainian crime boss Semion Mogilevich’s mansion was in the diplomatic quarter of Budapest and shared the same street with Chinese, Austrian, and Vietnamese embassies.
