51-year old former Nassau County police detective Hector Rosario was convicted 5th of March 2025 of lying to FBI and protecting Bonanno family illegal gambling operations, including tipping off a Mob member under investigation and looking up the address of a potential informant. He was fired from the department in 2022.

Rosario steered law enforcement raids toward competing gambling parlors, including a front for the Genovese family. Rosario was paid $8000 for his ‘services’ to the Bonanno family. 9 people were indicted from charges ranging from illegal gambling to racketeering, money laundering and conspiracy charges.
