I noticed that you know you'll see a mob guy and once they pass away everybody's like he was such a great guy, he was such a good person. Wtf?

Are they delusional I mean look I love the history of everything I like certain guys that were connected but these guys killed people, they proudly robbed and extorted innocent human beings and preyed on them to make a living.

Someone here explain the logic of these people please.

Many of them had a certain charm about them, and many people don't see them as being any worse than our politicians.

Most of the people that do this are relatives or grew up in the same neighborhood. Outsiders think they are mostly all scumbags.

Well like you said, many people hero-worship them as well. It's hard for me to judge. I personally know or have met lowdown dirty scumbags throughout my life as well. They may not kill people (as far as I know) but many people's character isn't much different from these mobsters. Think about all the backstabbers you've ever met, snitching coworkers and such, authority figures who abuse their power and treat underlings like shit. Scumbaggery goes on everywhere, but people in organized crime or crime in general blatantly break the law. That's the difference my friend.

Very true. There's even been guys that are connected that are smart enough not to fall into the clique. They do their job, keep their distance and may have one or two guys they associate with socially. Other than that they answer to their Capo and thats it. They do not fall into the trap of being involved with guys because you can't trust anybody in that life.

You know who was a perfect example of this? Frank Schweihs.

Americans have been fascinated by outlaws forever (think: Wild West). Today, there's another wrinkle on it: The average person understands that governments and politicians are generally corrupt. Most people know they can’t do anything about that. So, when they see the Mafia ‘getting over’ on the government and the police, it sort of fills a need in people’s mind, who want to see someone… get away with flaunting the authorities who misrepresent the people they serve. A lot of people wish they could do the same, and enjoy the idea of a group of rebels who come and go as they please without fear of repercussion. And when they die, their sins die with them.

Well stated, Turnbull.

And it makes sense. There's a lot of truth to what you said.
