April 1.Gene Gotti, older brother of the infamous boss John Gotti, released from prison after more than 30 years for drug trafficking, was arrested for conspiracy to commit murder because he was tired of how the Sicilian faction of the family was running the business.

The Sicilians led by Dominick Cefalù and Lorenzo Mannino running the Gambino family from the early 2000s, returning the family to its old ways of secrecy after the wild Gotti years.

Among those arrested are also Lenny (The Conductor) DiMaria, Michael (Mickey Boy) Paradiso and Louis (Big Louie) Vallari while nothing is known about who Gene Gotti hired to eliminate Cefalù and Mannino but according to rumours they would be, ironically, Sicilians from the city of Ribera.

For Scott Burnstein the tip come from the Italian police after Giovanni Derelitto boss of Ribera and Bagna Sicula he had been intercepted saying that he "would send some men to do a favor for some friends in New York"

Although the information dates back to February 2024, nothing could be done before due to the affair of James Dennehy, head of the New York office of the FBI, who was forced to resign by President Donald Trump.
