No, I haven't fallen into mainstream society quite yet folks. I was playing with Adobe Audition today, and was thinking that it might be fun for us to have a little forum game, ripped from American Idol.
We could have about 8-10 members record a song (either with or without backing vocals, free MIDI's are available throughout the internet which work fine) using Windows Sound Recorder or another program (the only thing not allowed is audio manipulation or vocal effects).
Every person would submit their song in .mp3 or .wav (or whatever is easiest, .mp3 would be the smallest) format, and we could have the rest of the BB vote for the BB idol?
Sound stupid? You bet. But I figure, we're doing too much arguing these days, and maybe not enough stuff to be loosened up. So let me know what you guys think.

Hilarious idea, DJ! I don't think I'll be making one, partially because I wouldn't know how/wouldn't be able to, and partially because I'd be laughed off stage! But I will be cheering on all of the brave contestants! I've made some videos with my cousin on his camera, but we play a song and then mouth the words to it, instead of singing. We've done, "There's A Tear in My Beer," which was hilarious, as well as some Blues Brothers songs.

I think someone should collect all the sound files, and they should be posted so no one knows who's who. That way, people are judged by talent rather than popularity.
Everyone is a judge - via a poll.
There could be a preliminary round, where people judge a short clip to see who moves on to the "next round"...
There are many options that could be done - I'd gladly help with that... but anonymity would be cool I think, and winners announced after voting...

If we could get Parts to sing Madonna's "Like a Virgin", then we may just have a success on our hands.
"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

Yes, I like Geoff's idea of anonymous submissions, though I'm wondering if we could find a temporary web host to locate all this stuff (unless someone would be generous enough to host this until it's over, then you can dump it :p ), and then put each song into the new poll thread. Under anonymity makes it fantastic as well, we probably should go by song title though (i.e. for example, if I sang "Bohemian Rhapsody," we'd say "Bohemian Rhapsody" by #1" or something along those lines.
Our contestants so far appear to be:
Myself Mikey Sullivan Geoff/LDV (?) Beatlewho Turi (?)
It'll be a short contest with only 5 or 6, but oh well. Anyways, please let me know what you guys want to do as far as hosting. I suspect it would be temporary anyways. I know I've almost reached my 10MB limit, so unless these were really small .mp3's, I dunno if I'd be able to host it. But I'm sure there has to be a free domain out there that we could use, if only temporarily, to dump our files and then close it once the contest is over.
