God what a tough question!! I suppose, my favourite scene changes with my mood, but at the moment I'd say it is either the scene when Michael says "I'll kill them both" (meaning Sollozzo and Cpt. Mcluskey), or the restaurant scene when he shoots the fuckers in the head. I can't decide between those two.

Part I- Michael blows Captain McCluskey and Sollozzo brains out. Part II- Vito's rise to become the most powerful Don in the movie Part III- Vincent biting Zasa's ear and desire to push Zasa out of chopper (scene before meeting with the Dons in Atlantic City).

My favorite part for PT.1 is the restaurant scene and for PT.2 its this.. Originally posted by joltinjoe05: My favorite scene is when Vito (De Niro) is walking on the roof tops and is watching Fanucci walk down the street. Then later in that same scene, he kills Fanucci. PT.3 would have to be Michael yelling on the steps near the end-great acting

Well THats tough but, GFI- When Carlo gets killed and Michael walks away with Tom and Al Neri. Great and Powerful scene! GFII-probably the end with the flashback GFIII- The end on the steps is so hard to watch because Pacino and Dianne Keaton are just so good

With this treasure trove of cinematic greatness, where o where to begin?
It's impossible to pick out one so I've gotta cheat and offer my faves:
* The Five Families Meeting where Vito rolls over and play "coward" but shows that he's still hardcore when he makes them all understand that Michael WILL NOT BE HARMED IN ANY WAY.
* The Restaurant Scene, not only for its power in the story but its impact behind the scenes.
* Mama Corleone's funeral
* The Baptism
* Michael's reneging on the deal with Hyman, which leads into a rant on Moe Greene.
* Michael's diabetic attack/confession.
* Mike and Kay's reconcilius interruptus.
Montauk
We might be able to tape the gun behind it.

I'm also a fan of the wedding scene at the beginning of I. But by FAR, my favorite scene of the entire trilogy is the "This is the Business we've Chosen" scene. Two magnificent actors acting magnificently.

The greatest thing about the GF Trio is the accumulation of magnificent scenes, but since we all know that, my pick for my current mood would be:
GF1-Restaurant Killings GF3-Final Scene(s) on steps
and for GF2, I agree with the following-- when Kay is telling Michael that she had an abortion.
"The look on his face - especially his eyes (that "Corleone Stare" that's described in the novel) - was just incredible"
and also when Michael realizes Fredo betrayed him
"Never hate your enemies - it affects your judgement."

Fredo's death in Part II is just about the most powerful scene I can think of in cinema history. Whenever I'm trying to think of why GF is my favourite film(along with Part II of course), I just think of that scene. The sound of the birds flying away from the sound of the gunshot still haunts me.
"Tom, you know you surprise me. If anything in this life is certain, if history has taught us anything, it's that you can kill anyone."

Well, all the scenes are great, but I'd have to say the baptism scene in the first one. I can't think of a better scene in any movie.
