Oh my gosh somebody said about the scene wher michael says "im with you now." oh my god so moving and obviously so pivotal in the movie. cant believe i forgot that one.
Michael Corleone: My father made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Kay Adams: What was that? Michael Corleone: Luca Brasi, held a gun to his head, and my father assured him, that either his brain or his signature would be on the contract.

Been awhile since I wrote on this messageboard, but here are my takes on favorite scenes
The whole trilogy: The Godfather music and intro GFI: Mikey saving his father at the hsopital, The murder of Sollozzo and McClusky, The beatdown of Carlo by Sonny, the Baptism and Five Families murder, and The end sequence. GFII: When Fredo was the traitor "I knew it was you Fredo, you broke my heart!", Don Vito and the murder of Fanucci, the "forgiveness" at mama Corleone's funeral between Fredo and Mike, the death of Fredo GFIII: St. Sebastian ceremony w/ flashback, The Atlantic City Massacre, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.", Zasa's murder, The transfer of power from Michael to Vincent, the murder on the stairs of Cavalleria Rusticana (sic)
Those are my takes on it.
Take Care George Don Crazyman
"Tonight, The Crazyman family settles its accounts. Monkey and Strawboy, those lil amatuer artist f*cks. they've been screwing with us since the beginning. F*ck'em. Izabela, my ex-g/f, Tracey will pay her a visit, at her home. Ruben, take a train to Holman, light a candle for professor Nyman."

Good picks for part III, there doesnt seem to be many contenders id say my fave is
- Never again give that kind of order....not while im alive..... I run this family, right or wrong?? IT WAS NOT...WHAT I WANTED!! (great stuff)
- Mike's Diabetic attack (you deceitful old fuck!)
- Vincent and Zaza's scene
- Helicopter attack (except the stupid lucky coat bit)
- 'Zasa'
Sonny - Well then, business will have to suffer, all right? And listen, do me a favor, Tom. No more advice on how to patch things up, just help me win, please

The Dons' convention, Frankie's Senate testimony, and Michael's first encounter with Sr. Vitelli, are all contenders, too. You choose the most boring ones! The begin sequence takes too long. The end of Godfather in the church is my favourite, when they kill verybody. Death of Sonny In the restaurant with The turk and mc clusky

I didnt like a lot of the violence scenes in GodFather III. It was like style over substance.
The helicopter attack, Vincent overpowering the 2 would be assasins, the end scene at the opera house when the twin bodyguards were killed !! Geez
In contrast the violence in I and II looked natural and realistic, no flashy goings on, just head over there with your weapons and kill the guy. Thats maybe how it happens in real life (not that I'd know thank goodness) and therefore what entertains me.

Mannolo - I cannot agree that those scenes were boring, a couple of scenes in part III are boring, but NOTHING in parts I and II are anything less than gripping and magnificent, especially the wedding, a great start to any movie
Sonny - Well then, business will have to suffer, all right? And listen, do me a favor, Tom. No more advice on how to patch things up, just help me win, please

I thought about it and still I can't choose. I think my favorite scene the Godfather part 1 I'll go for the opening scene with Bonasera, when Luca Brasi wants to see Vito and the speech of Vito at the meeting with the heads of all the families. In the Godfather 2 it would be the scene with Young Vito and the landlord Roberto, but I also like the scene when Franky Pentangeli wants to hear the Tarantella and his meeting with Micheal and tells him he wants the Rosato brothers dead.
But when I watch the movies again, I think it will probably be other scenes again.

There are so many aren't there! The scene where the door is closed by Neri after Michael has told here he didn't get Carlo killed is very powerful.
"My wife was weeping before she fell asleep, outside my window I saw my Caporegimes coming to the house and it is midnight. So, Consigliori of mine, I think you should tell your Don what everyone knows."

This is a very hard question but here goes:
GF1-Vito dies (so sad)-Vito has his last words with Michael-Micheal speaks to Fredo in the bosthouse (so moving)-Genco dies(deleted scene).
GF2-The senate hearings-Michael finds out it was an abortion-scenes showing Vito and his kids-Michael closes the door in Kay's face.
GF3-Michael finds out Zaza is dead-The ending sequence-Mcihael gets a stroke(so sad)-The confession.
*Trilogy*-Are you kidding me? Its like asking which one of my children I love more.

II a- When Michael and Tom chat and Tom says "Kay had a miscarriage she lost the baby." "Was it a boy?" "Mikey, after 3 1/2 months..." "CAN'T YOU GIVE ME A STRAIGHT ANSWER ANYMORE?!! WAS IT A BOY??!!" b- the Dec 1941 Flashback c- when Anthony Rosato garrotes Frank and says "Michael Corleone says Hello!" III - a- When Michael says -- "Don't ever again give that kind of order not while i'm alive, understand?" Vincent says "You were too sick to make a decision, I got a go ahead from Neri, I got a go ahead from Connie.....It was the right decision, Uncle Michael." "It was the wrong decision. I command this family, right or wrong. It was not what I WANTED!" b- When Michael is being helped after he gets the stroke and he starts screaming "FREDO! FREDO!" c- The whole scene where Michael gives control to Vincent and Calo, Neri and that other guy start kissing Vincent's hand. and Neri calls him Don Corleone, Neri's line in that one reminded me of Part 1's scenes where various people respected Vito and they called him Don Corleone. ok that's enough

GF: Sonny beating the holy hell out of Carlo. It isn't the most artistic scene in the film, and there is an infamous "12 inch punch" in there, but Carlo, that bastard, had it coming!
Part II: When Vito gives Fanucci the $100. That grin that he gives Fanucci is absolutely chilling.
Part III: The "Silent Scream". Brings tears to my eyes everytime, partly because of great acting, partly because I'm happy I don't hafta sit through another minute of Sofia Coppola's acting.

Anthony and 'Brucia la Terra' brings a tear to my eye every time.
But my favourite from the trilogy - that's hard!
Michael's 'Silent Scream' - that's another really good one. But then there's Santino being butchered at the toll booth or Hagen kidnapped by Sollozo.
I give up.

GODFATHER 1-------- The scene where Fabrizzio betrays Michael and he screams No to Appolonia before she dies. (Great because he knew even his close bodyguard can betray him) The Baptism sequence with no doubt (Handled all family business) The scene where Kay gets shut out ( The beginning of his life as The Don Michael Corleone)

And finally for the Godfather 3---- The whole entire scene of letting Anthony go, and the settling of the argument between Joey ZaZa and Vincent. Definitely the during Anthony's performance of Brucia La Terra. The QUIET SCREAM of MICHAEL, i dont care how bad Mary's acting is that was brilliant by Michael.
