Yes their remaking another classic film and will be released on 06/06/06. It looks like another remake flop, so I doubt I will be spending my $9.25 on that. Will anyone be going to see this film The Omen

I only recently heard this movie was coming out. I too, thought it'd be a continuation, or another storyline.
I liked the original and have seen the sequels as well. "Devil made me do it" movies are creepy yet I enjoy watching them. :p
I don't know if I'll go to the movies to see it, although I'll be on vacation, I just might. Most likely though I'll see it on video.
By the previews I saw, it looks "exactly" like the first one. Although, as history as proven, remakes don't usually hold up IMHO.

Amen. You know your movie is bad when you have to give it a shitty marketing gimmick like having it premiere on 6/6/06.

*DING* Why don't you shut the hell up! Look I'm not about to take your advice concerning this movie or any other movie. I'm the kind of individual that needs to see a movie for himself in order to judge it. If a movie looks interesting, or deals with a subject I find interesting I'll go and see it.

Hey Iceman.....I thought your avatar was supposed to be one of the toughest and cruelest men that probably ever lived, or especially worked for the Mob.
Anyway, the American Horror film is in a coma. Every fucking movie now reeks of the same bullshit we've seen, the same weak-ass "grainy" look thats been the norm since SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and SEVEN, and worse, none of them terrified me.
We are Americans, we are supposed to inspire the world, not steal from the Koreans and Japanese and water the fuck out of it.
And a remake of THE OMEN from the director of the ridiculously stupid BEHIND ENEMY LINES, along with the fact that I am quite sure that FOX was more worried about getting it in theaters than worrying if it was good or not. I mean jesus titty-fucking Christ, look at X3 or FANTASTIC FOUR.

Why oh Why Irishman...................
How about this. You ever been betrayed? You ever had a parent beat you like a sack of potatoes, or catch your girl fucking some prick?
Maybe why I am distrissed when I see people enjoy FOUR or X3 is because I read those comics as a kid.
Hell man, that was my childhood. I remember seeing the Punisher waste bad guys like we waste message board postings. I still have images of Spider-Man swinging with grace and pure natural mechanics through the skyscrapers of New York City while the Fantastic Four were off beating the fuck out of Mole Man or the real Doctor Doom(you know, not that stupid-ass CEO bullshit, but the badass ruthless dictator of Latveria)....then I look around my back, and there is Batman in the darkness of alleys, stalking the streets for superstitious evil men, with Superman flying high above fighting for truth, justice, and the American fucking way.
Then there is the Xmen duking it out with somebody, whatever it was Magneto or Apocalypse or worse, the Sentinels, and if one happens to catch something at that street corner, its John Constantine and Dr. Strange stalking some evil magical beings.
So ya, it is excessive mental baggage when I come to the quite lousy X3 and FANTASTIC FOUR, movies that feature characters that sorta look like and happen to have the same name as some figures that I knew as a kid....but fuck me, they are strangers.
With FANTASTIC FOUR, Reed Richards isn't a brilliant if dry scientist, but instead now a dweeb of a pussy with bad hair coloring. Sue Storm Richards isn't a beautiful and yet legitimately intelligent "woman", but a artificially pretty model who passes off for a scientist like Bush passes himself as a conservative. Johnny Storm isn't the adrenaline-addicted but fightable man, but some punkass metrosexual bitch who is a rebel by virtue of riding a motorcycle(how original! ).....and poor Ben Grimm, hes stuck in this shitty movie.
Better yet, Doctor Doom went from being a mysterious and quite frankly, cool villain who arguably is *the* great baddie of the Marvel comics universe, to being a lame boring guy who becomes bad because...well, because he just can!
Nevermind that the film is full of almost redneck attempts at humor, from the toilet paper and other shit that really, feels cheap, almost like the popcorn I buy in theaters.
As for X3......oh Jesus Christ, where to begin on THAT turkey.
Lets see, one of THE great storylines from the XMEN comics, the Phoenix tale, is fucking wasted. I mean its like someone fucking a film translation of the Jesus Christ legend. Sure you can make a change here and there for narrative or other reasons, fine. However, once changes occur that either demean or lower the quality of the story, then its fucked.
What else....from Beast going from a dignified brilliant intellect who just happens to be a blue furry monster to being quite frankly a goofy-looking blue furry monster that makes me wanna take the Cookie Monster more seriously. Grammer was good casting, but......either the script or Ratner dropped the ball otherwise.
I might add more later, when its safe to drop spoiler bombs....but ya Irishman, please do understand better why I'm pissed that Fox fucked two movies up...and to think, X3 was rushed in order to beat Singer's SUPERMAN RETURNS to theaters.

I totally understand now. It had a certain sentimental value to you and they f*cked it up. I do appreciate the time for you to explain it to me (and no I'm not being sarcastic). I collected some comics as a kid but didn't read them much. I grabbed certain comics because I liked the cover and thought it was cool. Have you ever read THE LONG HALLOWEEN Batman series? That's what turned me back onto comics at around age 15 or so. Probably the BEST story I've personally ever read. I would love for them to make that into a movie but as you've described in great detail, they'd probably find a way to f*ck it up. And yes, I'm with you, I'm not a huge fan of Fox Studios. However, I will give them there due. I did enjoy X3 only because I expected it to be the worst of the franchise. On a final note, and again not to sound cynical, but what would you have done to improve The Fantastic Four and/or X3? I know personally that one of the reasons I didn't like When A Stranger Calls (feel free to laugh) was because it was PG-13. It was too watered down so it could "appeal" to all the teeny-boppers. So in that sense, I totally understand where you are coming from.

Most of the time, the fear of recycling material for commercial, not artistic, reasons, is justified. It's not that I'm against remakes; I'm simply weary of the reasons behind them... I don't think it's a coincidence that established, well-known, highly respected directors rarely, if ever, remake films. Mostly, remakes aren't bad because they're remakes, but because they're made by bad directors. Although I've not seen it, I find the prospect of a shot-for-shot remake of Psycho, by Van Sant, fascinating. And I learned the other day that Haneke is remaking his own Funny Games in English, which, if we're to go by the director and his previous work and themes alone, could be a brilliant film.
