Bob Dylan will set off on his third annual tour of U.S. minor league baseball stadiums beginning Aug. 12 in Comstock Park, Mich. Tickets begin going on sale July 8 for some shows; one child under 12 will be admitted free of charge with each adult ticket holder.
Dylan will be supported on the road by guitarists Jimmie Vaughan and Junior Brown, as well as Elana Janes and the Continental Two. As previously reported, the tour will coincide with Aug. 29 release of a new Dylan studio album, "Modern Times."
In related news, a baseball-themed episode from Dylan's weekly XM Satellite Radio show "Theme Time Radio Hour" has been added to the National Baseball Hall of Fame Library archive. On the show, Dylan sang an a cappella rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and played several iconic radio snippets from vintage baseball broadcasts.
Here are Bob Dylan's tour dates:
Aug. 12: Comstock Park, Mich. (Fifth Third Ballpark) Aug. 13: Columbus, Ohio (Cooper Stadium) Aug. 15: Lexington, Ky. (Applebee's Park) Aug. 17: Augusta, Ga. (Lake Olmstead Stadium) Aug. 18: Winston-Salem, N.C. (Ernie Shore Field) Aug. 19: Frederick, Md. (Harry Grove Stadium) Aug. 20: Washington, Pa. (Falconi Field) Aug. 23: Reading, Pa. (First Energy Stadium) Aug. 24: Pawtucket, R.I. (McCoy Stadium) Aug. 26: Pittsfield, Mass. (Wahconah Park) Aug. 27: Manchester, N.H. (Merchantsauto.com Stadium) Aug. 29: New Britain, Conn. (New Britain Stadium) Aug. 30: Rochester, N.Y. (Frontier Field) Sept. 1: Wappingers Falls, N.Y. (Dutchess Stadium) Sept. 2: Cooperstown, N.Y. (Doubleday Field) Sept. 3: University Park, Pa. (Medlar Field at Lubrano Park) Sept. 5: Fort Wayne, Ind. (Memorial Stadium)

Here's Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Neil Young, Tom Petty and Roger McQuinn (from the Byrds who had the hit with this song), singing "My Back Pages." I'm sure the "oldies" here will know it. I always liked this song. It has Dylan style all over it IMHO. I love that song TIS, that performance has always been one of my favorite things to watch. They all work together so well. Though Dylan just looks typically pissed off the whole time, mostly at Clapton for some reason.

Baggins....
I just got tickets for 8/26.
Watch the Dylan website from the link that Beth posted, and and they'll post a password on the morning that the presale begins.
Then, just click on the pre-sale date, and the rest is as easy as pie.
The tickets I got were $49.50 each, plus a $7.00 service charge.

Make sure you give us a review, Ferro.
I'm a big fan of Jimmy Vaughn and his former group, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, so I'm really looking forward to this.

As for Hurricaine, he never performs that anymore. After Rubin was found to actually probably be guilty, he decided never to sing it again. His recent sound with TOOM and LAT is amazing. I love it. I can't wait for his new release "Modern Times". The Doc

At the concert I went to, "Like a Rolling Stone" and "All Along the Watchtower" were the encore. I doubt he'll play "Hurricane". In fact, judging from his song lists of his latest tour, he hardly plays any of his material from the mid 70's, probably because it was so painfully personal. Unlike most people, I prefer that side of Dylan.
How am I not myself?

I'd love to see Dylan live, and especially see his Desire songs played.

I heard on the radio today that there will be a Broadway play based on Bob Dylan's music to debut in September. Who would have ever thought?? The same people who brought us "Movin Out" the Billy Joel musical are involved in this one as well. The title is "The Times They Are A Changing." I know I really liked "Movin Out" and hopefully this will be good as well. Anyone hear about it? Here's the link I just found: TIS http://www.playbill.com/news/article/100721.html
