I forgot who recommended this film(sorry) but it was a great recommendation. Thank you who ever it was.

After seeing that I think I need to see some more James Cagney films - broaden my horizens etc.

"Angels With Dirty Faces" is excellent. It has a brilliant ending.

I had recommended "White Heat" to Claire a few days ago and I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it as well, Turi.

I had first seen that movie (as a kid) many years ago on television. I still remember how impressed I was when I first saw it, and later when videos became popular, it was one of the first in my library.

I'd suggest you watch another Cagney classic, "Public Enemy", one of the first gangster movies (1931). It's not as good as "White Heat", but it's a good story, and the scene with Cagney pushing a grapefruit into Mae Clarke's face is a true classic!

A great recommendation, Don Andolini.

Cagney, and Pat O'Brien (as the priest) are superb. Watch for Humphrey Bogart and the "Dead End Kids" as well.
