is once upon a time in america worth to get and is it good whats is it about

I liked it, but it's confusing. (I still don't get part of the ending...the real ending...) Great portrayal of all things/plot points. Over all, a 7.

I highly recommend "Once Upon a Time in America" to anyone who loves good mob pictures, and a good story, too.

Its an excellent story of betrayal, and has a few twists and turns that may be a little confusing, but the acting and the photography make it a good bet for a video rental.

Get the loooonngg version...

One of my all time favorites, it has all the elements I love in a movie: the epic, historical feel of another place and time, span of time, interpersonal relationships ie: trust, betrayal, etc....and ROBERT DENIRO.

Everytime I see this movie I get something new out of it. Definitely a movie which requires multiple viewings. I have watched both the long version and the long, long version. This is a great movie.

I have been meaning to see this movie for a long time. I thought I would wait for the DVD release, but now I think I will just rent it on VHS. But my question is what is the difference(time and content)between the regular version and the long version?

I'm not sure when this movie is going to make it to DVD...I just really hate watching videos anymore since the DVD player moved in. The first time I saw this movie it was almost 4 hours long. Subsequent viewings on cable, movie channels and even a video once had the cut version which was a little over 2 hours. With the cut version, you miss alot of character development, both in the early and recent years of the storytelling. There is also a rape scene that is much longer and much more detailed in the longer version. Not ulike the Godfather with it's deleted scenes, once you see the extra footage, it is hard to see the movie without it. I know you can rent the regular (long version). Enjoy.

It's a classic film. It's something every true mob fan should watch to get an idea of it for themselves.

To me, I love it but it is very long. And because of that I don't like to watch it too often. I've seen it twice and thats enough for me for a while, unlike something like the Godfather which I can watch over and over. Still a great film though. A must see.
