i've just seen this film for the first time!
i have to say after seeing 'the godfather' 'Scarface' 'Goodfellas'
it was refreshing to see a story about jewish mobsters.
the acting was good, De Niro and Woods were great!
but it was depressing absolutely no happy ever afters!!

question: is this film based on a book? if so by how? cause i'd love to read it it has to be better than the film!!

I didn't understand the ending to Once Upon a Time in America .

"Mio padre se chiamo Antonio Andolini, e questo è per te." - Robert De Niro to Giuseppe Sillato in The Godfather Part II.

And, yes, I strongly reccomend the film "Dog Day Afternoon"

For Some Reason I Didn't Care For Dog Day Afternoon.

I really like Dog Day Afternoon, definately worth checking out, but I don't think Once Upon a time in America is good enough to buy. It was an alright movie, I only saw it once about a year ago so I don't remember it very well, but I didn't really think that much of it after I saw it.

I thought it was great. Robert deNiro was his usual flawless self.
