You're in for a real treat, Corpuzzi! In this '48 classic, Bogey plays a former GI, visiting Key Largo to pay his respects to the family of a pal who was killed in the war. They own a hotel/fishing resort that's been rented by a mysterious group of thuggish-looking guys (Edward G. Robinson, Thomas Gomez, Dan Seymour) who turn out to be gangsters on the lam. The fun starts when their identity is disclosed, and a hurricane hits. I won't say more about the plot. The cast is just terrific: Trevor deservedly won the Oscar for her portrayal as Robinson's boozy, mistreated moll. Bogey's tops, as usual, and Lauren Bacall, always good, is there as his romantic interest. Lionel Barrymore is hammy as the owner. But the best portrayal is by Robinson as Johnny Rocco, the big boss. His "Little Caeser" was an alter-boy compared to Rocco. Nasty? Oho! This film's on my top-ten gangster movie list.

good movie! i watched it yesterday. although its a little old, it is still worth watching. i like the acting of Edward Robinson, cant forget his facial expression when Lauren Bacall spit on his face. . . --------------------- I command this family right or wrong. . .it was not what I wanted!
