Jake : '' Some people aren't tat lucky , like the one that Marlon Brando played in 'On the Waterfront'.An up-and-comer whose now a down-and-outer. You remember the scene in the back of the car with his brother Charlie and it went something like this : 'It wasn't him Charlie, it was you. Remeber the night at the Garden you came down my dressing room and you said ' Kid this isn't your night, we're going for the price on Wilson ?'.' This isn't your night, my night ? I coulda taken Wislon apart that night, and so what happens ? He gets a title shot outdoors in a ball park and what do I get ? A one way ticket to Palookaville. I was never no good after night,Charlie. It was like a peak you reach and then, it's downhill. You was my brother, Charlie. You shoulda looked out for me a little bit, you shoulda looked out for me just a little bit, you shoulda taken care o' me just a little bit instead making me throw all them fights for all that money. I coulda had class, I coulda been a contender - I coulda been someone instead of a bum, which is what I am. It was Charlie, it was you Charlie.....'

"You don't understand! I could've had class. I could've been a contender. I could've been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am. Let's face it......It was you, Charley." - Terry (Marlon Brando), On the Waterfront (1954). One of my favorites

I've always been interested in the Middle East and Central Asia. The taliban took power in 1996 - ignored until post September 11th even though they had been major abusers of human rights since taking over. Lot of talk in press here in Europe about U2 singing at the Superbowl. Controversial appearance cos of Bono's anti- war stance, political commentators asking : ' Is money more important to the band than suffering and killing of thousands in famine struck, war ravaged country ? '

I never liked Bono. That band just milks the innocent people. Their ticket prices are horrendous. Its as if they are the Beatles or Led Zeppelin. I just hate stars who abuse their power.
