In "Goodfellas" (and in the book, "Wiseguy"), we're told that Henry Hill's pal Tommy DieSimone was whacked on orders from Lucchese capo Paul Vario ("Cicero" in the movie) because he'd killed made man Billy Batts. But in their biography on John Gotti, "Mob Star," Gene Mustain and Jerry Capeci say that the Dapper Don himself ordered Tommy killed. In their telling, Gotti's crew whacked a guy who was chiseling on their hijacking operations, and planned to pin the murder on Tommy. Another source they quote says Tommy did kill the guy (called "Foxy") over a girl, not over hijacking. Whatever: Mustain and Capeci say that Gotti ordered Tommy's father in law, a member of Gotti's crew, to bring his son in law in. He refused, tearfully. But four days later, two unnamed members of Gotti's crew caught up with Tommy, took him for a boat ride on Jamaica Bay, killed him and dumped him overboard.

Interesting. I know Billy Bats was in the Gambino Family, so it wouldn't suprise me if Gotti was behind it.

Actually another version, acording the Joe Iannuzzi's biography Joe Dogs was that Tom Agro, a made Gambino memeber killed Tommy, on Gotti's recomendation. Joe Dogs said T.A. as Agro was known also killed another Desimmone, who had ratted soem goodfellas out. Their brother Bobby was a member or Agro's and Iannuzzi's crew in Fla.

Agro, and Desimone were both convited and jailed when Agro turned and wore a wire for the FBI.
