I just saw a few minutes of "The Freshman" on TV last night. Unfortunately it was on the same time as JFK (Nov 22!) so I didnt see much of it. I can't believe I never heard of this film before. The godfather is in it I couldn't believe when I switched on the channel, and there was the Godfather on my screen in a scene I never saw him in before! I thought Godfather IV was out on TV already or something!

Has anyone else ever seen this movie?

"The Freshman" is a mildly entertaining film, where Brando uses his "Godfather makeup", but doesn't reprise his Vito Corleone character. Its a light comedy with a funny plot. Look for Bruno Kirby, who played Clemenza in GFII as Brando's nephew. He has a funny line, describing Brando "as the real thing"

I actually liked this movie a lot. Brando really screwed the producers over by calling the film a flop before it was released.

You desecrated a classic film. This is worse than "Godfather III."

All right, all right, I'm sorry.

I saw it but didnt like it too much. It had its share of humerous Godfather referances though. I'd recomend every Godfather fan to see it before they die.

By the way, love your Simpsons signature,BadaBing. Have you seen the one where Bart and Milhouse fall into Comic Book Guy's secret movie stash. They're thumbing through the movies and one of them says "Godfather 3......good version." Then in Moe the babysitter Fat Tony (Joe Mantegna) says "I havent cried this much since I payed to see Godfather 3" Joe Mantegna=Joe Zasa.
OK I'll stop now...

I completely forgot that Montegna played the voice of Fat Tony when I saw that.
