Which film of Tarantino's do you all think is best. I personally like Reservoir Dogs, but Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vols. 1-2, were all amazing. Which???

Tarantino never ceases to amaze me with his choice of music. Although he almost never has any original scores (I think he had one or two in Kill Bill), his ear for appropriate music is amazing. Such as 'Bang Bang' by Nancy Sinatra at the beginning of Kill Bill. His style of stories out of sequence is also an amazing piece of work because of how it all comes together so beautifully. Right on...in my opinion, Tarantino is one of the greatest directors that Hollywood has ever seen.

I was thinking about this last night & I hope some can help me figure it out, but why is it just Uma Thurman on the cover of Pulp Fiction? Obviously for Reservoir Dogs you can pick which guy you want, Jackie Brown has the entire cast on the cover, and Kill Bill has just Uma (which makes sense). But with such a BIG cast as in Pulp Fiction, why is it that just Uma made the cover? Why not have the entire cast like Jackie Brown?

The poster with Uma on the bed with a gun is a classic now. It takes from the pulp novels, that inspired Pulp Fiction.

Pulp fiction... Pulp Fiction... What's so good about this movie? Is it THAT good? I've heard so many good things about it, but is it too good to be true?

Definitely. It is Tarantino's best film and the only one up to this point that is easily one of the best films ever made. It is a great homage to the French New Wave, pulp novels, and pure cinema.

I'm starting to find Tarantino a little over rated, actually. Sure, he writes amazing scripts, but he writes all of his characters dialogue that's fit for the person already playing that part. He doesn't have casting because people already have the part. When he can write a script that is not designed for specific actors, then I'll give him his full credit. I recently saw Kill Bill Vol. 1 for the first time too. Not horrible. Not excellent. It wasn't funny and the anime was just stupid. The violence was also pretty fake. I don't care if that was his plan. This movie just wasn't anything great. 7.5/10 -Pat

I found both Kill Bills hilarious, but that may just be me. Tarantino is overrated, but the fact is he is, along with PT Anderson, the greatest director to emerge in the 90s, and he is still one of the greatest directors currently working in Hollywood. While Pulp Fiction is by far is greatest film, Kill Bill would be his next film that I would most comfortably call a masterpiece.

And Patrick, if you did not like the movie because the violence was fake, you missed the whole point of the film. And the anime was great.

What other movie of Tarantino's was David Carradine in?? I can only think of Kill Bill (unless you're counting KB Vols 1 & 2 as 2 movies?). Also thug, I wouldn't go as far as calling Pulp his greatest movie by far. It may be his best but not by far. But different opinions make the world go round.

What are you talking about? The anime was essential to the movie! The movie is Japanese oriented! Why not have an anime chapter? It deepy expresses the pain and emotion that O' Ren Ishii had to go through when SPOILER her parents are killed by the Yakuza guy. And that is a first! "the violence was also pretty fake." I thought you were a fan a violence. But i'm getting way in over my head. That's your opinion. I'd give a 9.5 because I really couldn't understand Hattari Hanzo when i first saw it becasue i didnt have captions on. Whoops. Tarantino kicks ass.

Pulp Fiction is by far his greatest film, yet all of his films are great, and I give them all 10/10.

I watch Tarantino's films for pure joy--like Star Wars, Duck Soup, or Singin' In The Rain--they're deeper than most Hollywood films, but they definitely aren't as complex as anything Bergman, Fellini, or Tarantino's "hero" Godard. So, Reservoir Dogs is the film of his that is the, for a serious lack of better words, least fun. It definitely is great--excellent performances, hilarious dialogue, inventive setting and narrative, and a pefectly handled twist--yet, all of his other films contain more power, energy, depth, and most importantly, entertainment.

* Note: Many would argue JACKIE BROWN is not that entertaining, but it has at least two flawless performances, Tarantino's best dialouge to date, and his closest attempt towards a drama.

One of my all time favorite scenes' in movies

My favorites in order are : pulp fiction, reservoir dogs, jackie brown and kill bill vol 1 (haven´t seen vol 2 yet).

I like all of Tarantino's movies, they are all Kick ass!!

It's the actual film making side that is amazing about Tarantino. The camera movement is dynamic, his movies are gorgeous. Kill Bill is influenced by old Kung Fu movies and spaghetti westerns. Tarantino is diving into a new genre, and the results are amazing. This genre does not contain the realistic facet of Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction, but try to appreciate the films for what they are instead of what you usually enjoy.

To put it extremely simply, that is what the about, but the comedy is a very different type. The cereal box that Vernita Green shoots through at Uma Thurman, the brand name is KaBoom. The scene with Buck is hysterical. It is a different type of humor that either you do not understand, or you just don't appreciate it.

I like all of them, except for Jackie Brown. I havne not seen that one yet. But my list goes like this.
