I've never seen it... thinking about watching it. Is it any good? I know De Niro directed it, and I heard something about Mobsters kicking some bikers ass or something...

Anyway, how does it compare to Goodfellas, Casino, etc.

Sure it's a good movie, espeically if you've never seen it before. But it's no where near as good as Goodfellas or Casino. Don't go in there trying to compare this with them b/c I don't think there's any comparison. But give it a shot if you've never seen it!

It is much more than "kicking some bikers ass" it shows another demension of the mafia in that part.

As Irishman said: "A Bronx Tale" is worth watching but it's nowhere near as good as "Casino" or "Goodfellas."

It's an excellent film, I think, with some terrific acting and memorable scenes, along with some very precise period detail.

Also, there's a surprise cameo appearance at the end by someone who all of us know and most of us love.

I like this movie a lot and the message it sends, of how Sonny didn't even want the gangster life for C. I thought it was well-done and I recommend for anyone interested in mafia movies to see it. I agree that it's not as enjoyable as Goodfellas or Casino. I like Donnie Brasco a little more than this film.

"A Bronx Tale" is one of my favorite movies. As plawrence pointed out, its attention to time related detail is superb, and it has the look and feel of the New York mob (on the local level) better than any other movie I've seen.

Its a different kind of movie than some of the others, though, and I agree that its not as exciting as, say, "Goodfellas" or "Casino". I'd still highly recommend it to anyone who likes mob movies!

It is a Mob movie, but at the same time a love story between A Gangster, A Kid and A father. One of my favorites. Watch it! You won't be sorry. As Plaw and SC have said, a great eye for detail in the movie, and a great soundtrack!

You do see the surprise cameo appearance at the end, but in the begining, you must LISTEN closely and see if you can figure out who the cameo is by.

Great movie. If you havent seen it,then you definately need to. The events of the last half hour are put together so beautifully.....great movie.

If winners never lose, well, then a loser sure can sing the blues.

It was a good movie. There was talk about DiNero playing the wise guy, and the other guy playing the bus driver. DeNiro wanted to play the Bus driver.

What I like was the kids in the neighborhood as little kids imitating the mannerisms of the wiseguys in the neighboor hood.

My area was full of those guys we never did that they stayed in the club or just out side. So if you did not live right on top of them you did not do that.

What we did as kids was copy the batting stances of the Yankees. In those days they had different stances and batting styles. We would copy one and say who hits like this. Then we tell him who they were copying.

Chazz Palmenteri used to be the doorman at the Limelight club in NYC and Peter Gatien I believe bankrolled his movie, Bronx Tale and that made him a star. I think he was perfect in his role. Best scene is, "Now Yous can't get out!"

I lived in that neighborhood from 1959 through 1985, and I'm still in the area at least twice a week for one thing or another. And even if you put the Mafia angle aside, "A Bronx Tale" was so on the money when it came to depicting life in the neighborhood at that time, that it almost feels like I'm watching a home movie when I see it. And that's the truth.

Mickey Mantle was a fantastic player even after his knees went.

But later in his life he could be bought for money. Wanted him to play golf with you pay him and he would be there.

I bet if you needed someone to wipe your ass pay him and he would probably do it if the money was right.

Just watched the film again, still a great film.. I'm not a baseball fan but do the baseball records still stand which C and Lorenzo are talking about when Lorenzo takes C to the shore..

What baseball records do they mention, haven't seen it in years? Saying that it's set in the 60s, when Mickey Mantle was in his prime.
