I pretty much agree with all the actors, only jonny depp's role not not oscar material in Donnie brasco. His best role is George Jung's in [b]BLOW
not a gangster but has connections with the Comumbia's

I believe that Pacino did NOT qualify for Best Actor for GFI. I think that he was nominated as best Supporting actor though, and Brando won best actor, but refused the oscar due to the controversy surounding the Native Americans and Wounded Knee.

As far as Carlito's way, a good acting job, good movie, but no way oscar material.

Don Cardi

Don Cardi cool

al did not deserve an oscar for scarface. yes it was a great role and he did a good job of overacting, but that's not what the oscars are about.
it's the same with the whole pulp fiction cast and reservoir cast. they are great movies, but in terms of acting, they aren't oscar worthy.

all im saying is that pacino was screwed out of an oscar for the godfather trilogy. for the first one he deserved a supporting oscar(but then again so did james cann, robert duval) and in the godfatehr 2 and 3 he definatly deserved at least a best actor oscar.

I agree with about half this list, however I'm not sure if Tarantino's films and DePalma's films, though entertaining, are really worthy of an Oscar. None of them are really very "artsy" and I think you need some of that for an Academy Award.

I think that Reservoir Dogs was a work of art and Steve Buscemi should have got something for it.

For me, I think Pacino for Best Actor in Part 2, Cazale for best Supporting Actor in Part 2 (though I think De Niro defiantely deserved it)
Scorsese for Best Director for any number of the good pictures he's done.

I agree 100%, Pacino did a fantastic job in part two mainly in the "was it a boy?" & "it was an abortion" scenes.Cazale convinced me with his "I was stepped over!" lines, it just amazed me.
