hey, i for one liked the untouchables, it was definatly entertaining. i dont know about a sequel, i mean if you want to tell a story about capone why not just direct a movie just based on his life...why link it to the untouchable movie.

I'm watching it right now on AMC and it's the enhanced version that has all the little tid bits and get this Someone at Paramount actually suggested that John Candy play Al Capone, I know this isn't that great of a mob movie but think of John Candy walking around that table weilding a bat and talking about Team work ahahahahahah That would have been a sight to see Joe Batters

I rank "The Untouchables" as one of the crowning moments in 1980's cinema. Cliched as it may seem, it's production value along with Mamet's simplistic, gritty script and the tour de force that all the actors provide transend the simplicy of the concept and make it an peratic statement about good v.s evil.
Can this film be made succesfully? If not made as a mere prequel and allowed to be it's own film, I feel this project could be extremley succesful.

Joe Batters It's a film, not a historical account of the opperations of Ness. Of course it's going to have many faults, but can you really allow it to hurt your opinion of it?

I liked The Untouchables alot. I'm a fan of Al"Scarface"Capone, so if they're going to make a movie about him, then I'll definitely give it a chance. I'm sure it won't be too bad, even though the movies aren't like what they used to be. We haven't had a Mafia/Gangster movie in a while, so I'm looking forward to seeing it.
You know, we always called each other good fellas. Like you said to, uh, somebody, :You're gonna like this guy. He's all right. He's a good fella. He's one of us.: You understand? We were good fellas.

Originally posted by Tony Love: I enjoyed The Untouchables, it was a classic. However, it was a single classic. It should not be sequeled, or prequeled. The same applies to Carlito's Way. Of course Carlito's Way had something to build upon and to live up to. Too bad it was excecuted badly with a piss poor cast, save for maybe P Diddy of all the people. Here, it's going to be an original script with the same producer/director team... Here we have a beter chance for a film of quality.

MaryCas, that what I want.
This prequel has enough to stand on and can be it's own film, not the build up to "The Untouchables".

I agree - why can't they make it as a movie in it's own right?

it would be a prequel about capone not on the untouchables yes the untouchables had capone in it but it was about the men who pinched him for tax evasion because they could not get any othe rcharges on him but why call it a untouchables prequel and capone rising sounds like a chessy scfi flick or something but i think it will be good just not the title and being a "untouchables prequel"
