I’ve been a member now for a long time and like the fact that other sites like us.

I just sometimes wonder if regular links to websites etc is for the best. Whilst it’s great initially, I’d hate to see it growing in a way that the site ends up becoming a short term footstool for others, then dying.

Maybe I’m just being stupid or possessive..I dunno, but I always trust my gut feeling...

One thing I will say is that "stealing" people is not my, or my partner Lisa's intention. We have no bad intentions at all.
Do you not like the fact that I write bios and stories for our forum?

I can tell you emphatically that we mean no ill will to anybody on the forum, nor the forum itself. I don't understand why you would be so "possessive" as you say, or be afraid of "stealing." If anything, I truly feel we add something positive to the forum, and are not detracting.

I hope my words have allayed your fears a bit. As you know, we are very busy, and the last thing we want or need is drama as they say. So trust me, we're all good.

This is Lisa and I want to comment and hope I don't offend while doing so....I take offense with your "piggybacking" statement because believe me when I tell you The New York Mafia and Mob Fireside Chat isnt' piggybacking on anyone. All we're doing is sharing our articles/videos. And to be honest...we dont' have to post anything here on BBG as that is not even a factor in our regular daily visitor numbers which has grown significantly in the past year. So, we don't really need to "steal" anyone and who does that anyway???? It's almost laughable that anyone would make such a statement. Take care.

I really enjoy the quantity and quality of your posts.You put a lot of work into it,and I think our Board has only gained since you started.

I can only speak for myself, but I'm on this board to read content and NYMafia provides good content. I don't see NYMafia sharing their content on this board as "piggybacking" and I don't really see how there would be any kind of competition between blogs and boards. I'm here to read stories, articles...and maybe share some myself (when I find the time to do so) and that's what NYMafia's doing as well. And even if it links to their website...well, they're the ones who put in the time and research for that article and post so I don't see the issue.

Truth be told, I still don't know what joy these people get out of "trolling" as the term goes, or if they are jealous of us. But I dare say that you are most probably correct in your assessment of their motives.

If you notice, it's usually those who contribute the least (if anything at all constructive to this board), who scream and complain the loudest. Why? Whats their possible motive? But I have to say this out of the blue attack on NYMafia was really (In my opinion) unjust and probably intended to just get a rise out him and fans/supporters (I am a fan of his articles). NYMafia just ignore the ignorant attacks. This is a Organized Crime board, his attack was personal and had nothing to do with OC so why even bother responding. Keep posting NYMafia if anyone has anything to say about your information that's fair game, your motives can be what ever they are. Its not up to anyone but the board hosts to determine if the motives are nefarious or not (I just wanted to use the word nefarious for once!)

I really like the posts from NYMafia. I also enjoy it when they take the time for guessing games prior to posting their latest article, those are enjoyable. The articles on San Francisco and Bay Area LCN were of particular interest as that's my home turf.

I find OC interesting and enjoy reading or watching movies/documentaries on the topic. For me, it's about learning something new and having some fun. NYMafia's posts accomplish both.

So, thank you for providing a lot of great reading material especially during these days when we all probably have a little more downtime than we'd like.

I enjoy everything they do and the board has been more active since they started posting IMO. Maybe I’m wrong numbers wise but I come to read few times a week, they post good shit to read on old timers and defunct families pretty solid contributions to the site IMO

I appreciate you looking out for the GBB, but at this point I have no reason to believe there is any malicious intent. In fact, it's probably been a benefit having the NYMafia folks choosing to contribute here for no compensation other than the satisfaction most readers get from them. I haven't had any problems with it, and I haven't gotten any complaints. They had reached out to me a while back, but there have been no discussions whatsoever about anything (between the holidays and my mom's passing and all that's involved, and life in general, I haven't had much time for that -- sorry about that, NYMafia).

Let's just get back to what we're here for... Of course, anyone with concerns can continue to feel free to report inappropriate posts, etc, and Turnbull or I will look into it.
