And if Carmine Persico was smart he would've taken a plea on that Hijacking case during one of his many trials on that case he was offered like a 2 year deal in the 60s. Could've been in and out. He rolled the dice, got hit with 14 years and spent 97% of the 1970s in prison.
Were they allowed to take plea deals back then? I know Gotti prohibited his men from pleading out in the '80s.
