Whitey Bulger's friend and handler from the FBI is being released due to medical reasons (cancer?). Seems contradictory to those who applied and were denied due to medical reasons previously, Bobby Manna in particular. I read he has less than a year to live. So? That's my position I missed the hearing and I agree 100 percent with you. Other older guys too with very serious medical conditions like Joseph DiNapoli (serving only 3 years on a gambling charge) who were denied as well. Not surprising though about Connelly...predictable actually. If they release an Al Queda terrorist because he's obese and could fall victim to Covid, why not release a disgraced and corrupt former FBI agent? Different rules. ~LisaB

For the Gov, Connoly is the fed that helped the fbi to cripple the Boston mafia because in the 1970s after hoover death the Fbi was having pressure to fight Cosa Nostra and Connolly did it. I think that for many people he is an hero while Bobby Manna is only a mobster. Hero? He helped Bulger and Flemmi literally Murder and Rape Women........ Flemmi was fucking his 13 year old step daughter and later murdered her.....Bulger was molesting kids as well..fucking disgusting!! Louie its all relative,the feds wanted to destroy the mafia and Connolly did the job;many in the Boston squad know Connolly methods and called Cannolli,but the mob was the élite and the bulger and the irishmen was a means to reach an obiettive for the other how cares,after all they was a bunch of animals.
Jerry Anguilo was in the numbers,loan sharking and providing protection to criminals and grey area businesses. He wasn’t raping women and molesting kids. Connolly is not even close to a hero, he’s a traitor to his profession and he should die in prison. Jerry meanwhile stayed true to his profession and kept his mouth shut for 20+ years. And after Jerry was gone, Bulger and flemmi were stronger in Boston than Cosa Nostra. Burger got the death he deserved. If your pimping women or kids or molesting them, your not a man of honor.
