A lot of fuzz is made when there's snitching in the Mafia, but people tend to forget there are A LOT of rats in cartels too. There's a ton of snitching in that world, whether you're in the Mob, a drug cartel, a street/prison/biker gang or any other kind of organized crime group.
In that respect, the longevity of a Mafia crime family is astonishing. For instance the Gambino's have been around since the 1910's. Compared to this, a cartel's demise is relatively fast. The Guadalajara cartel for instance lasted about 10 years, the Medellin and Cali cartels each about 20 years...plenty of other cartels stick around for a while longer, but with an extremely reduced power.
The Mob has been ingrained in pop culture, so it's tempting for people to have a bit of "schadenfreude" about the amount of rats the Mob has to deal with - but it doesn't hurt to realize that the same amount (maybe even moreso) of ratting is going on in any type of criminal organization.

The mob family was always orientated to bussiness so the bodies in the streets are dangerous for the bussiness while in the Cartels, murders is the rule, killing enemies, killing cops, killing everything so people prefer to flip and save his life, look at the film the counselour,a massacre only for what 300k dollars?

Snitching is part of the game. When you’re in the criminal world, tes money, power, women, parties, luxury, drugs etc is the fun part of the game. But with all this you also got murders, addiction, trahison, snitching, jail time etc. Every organizations or criminal levels will face the possibilies of snitch in there ranks.

Ratting / informing may be disgusting from the betrayed criminals point of view, but without them we wouldn't have much information to discuss on the forums, would we? The lack of loyalty in the underworld provides "gold mines" of information for average citizens interested in the subject. True and don't forget many intelligence services themselves have been accused of involvement in drug trafficking.

Cartels will never be as "popular" as LCN...yeah a Roy Demeo was just as savage as any Cartel hitman but he did it 100% for business and revenge. He didn't stop a bus on the highway pull everyone off and murder them like Cartels do. Chapo is pure scum and so is every other drug lord. The men in the cartels want to be rich and powerful, not to be popolar.El Chapo that wanted an interview with San Pennsylvania and Kate del Castillo is an exception. Maybe El Mencho but that is totally false. Los Chino Antrax is how a lot of these narcos are. El Chapo got caught because he liked restaurants and women. El Mencho is the exception not rule.

The youngsters love to show their wealth, power and glamorous life on instagram for example, they are heavily influenced by Hollywood.
