Wouldn't they hope by exposing him as a RAT that it would have a similar effect as when Gravano, flipped and there was a race for others to cut a deal.

So the Feds flipped a boss of the Outfit or an U.B. and the never got their day in the Sun?
No book deals for the agents that did the work?
No promotions? No one got credit for it?

No one got in trouble? Who did his cooperation bring down?
