These guys love saying it about others to justify their own behavior, and people on the internet who love saying it are just looking for an excuse to gossip. The FBI does everything to protect anyone who cooperates' identity, even after they are dead. Yet there they are, people claiming they are researchers who discovered a rat, or believing a known one (Gravano, Alite) who wants to bring others down to his level.
