Thomas 'Bomber' Kavanagh facing 20 years in jail over smuggling over €45m worth of drugs into UK
Bomber, who is regarded as Daniel Kinahan's UK business partner and who sat at the very top of the Byrne Organised Crime gang for two decades, is the biggest scalp so far in the fight against the Kinahan mafia.
The cartel by Stephen Breen and Owen Conlon was a good read. The book badfellas which is about OC in Ireland from 60s on also has a few chapters at end about the kinahans.
I just finished reading The Cartel Book (Thanks Vito)! By the end Daniel is basically calling the shots and was the one behind the feud with the Hutches.
While it’s possible I was falling asleep reading it the book didn’t really explain why the father didn’t just put an end to it. It def mentioned how him and his partner weren’t happy with the Heat the feud was brining it didn’t say why he didn’t just end it.
Why is it always Daniel in the news lately, what about his father Christy? Did he already retire from the boss position?
Daniel has become the 'director' of the organization the High Court in Dublin said, Christy focused on his new Dutch wife, he has travelled to the Netherlands on his legitimate passport to stay with her and younger family.
Dublin crime boss's associate linked to murder of Dutch crime journalist Ridouan Taghi, a criminal associate of Irish crime boss Daniel Kinahan, is being linked to the murder of Dutch journalist Peter R. de Vries.
James English podcast interview with Daniel, the full interview will be out next week. This is going to be huge, trailer below. Crazy move from Daniel in my opinion.
Can anyone recommend a good book on these guys? Seems like a pretty wild story.
Old Post but I just read the book on fat Freddie by Breen. I liked it, sure is a lot of violence and death in Dublin drug world. Totally unlike here in London, where it happens but rare.
Mob boss Daniel Kinahan’s much anticipated interview due out this week has been shelved due to legal issues at the Anything Goes Podcast with James English.

DEA knows he's dealing with some interesting guys since he went into top level boxing from Mauricio Sulaiman Saldivar to Bob Arum. Fury and others in boxing have been warned to cut all ties with him.
Why is the US involved in this and putting $5MIL REWARD up? Money laundering in the US?
DEA was already watching his lavish wedding in Dubai in 2017, leaked documents later showed they had compiled a dossier on the wedding party and estimated the gangsters had together imported €23 billion worth of cocaine into Europe.
Kinahan cartel enforcer Gerard Mackin was arrested by cops in Spain for alleged money laundering he has been released on bail. Mackin, initially from Belfast, was lifted after a European Arrest Warrant was issued in the final month.

Sicilian mafia also had business in Zimbabwe, they say Zimbabwe has become a mafia-run state, where 2,000 super-wealthy elites hold the country to ransom.
Two men, aged 42 and 22, have been arrested in Spain and are regarded by the British National Crime Agency as members of the Irish crime clan Kinahan . Both were wanted for firearms trafficking. Liam Byrne, 42, from Dublin, considered one of the most trusted members of organized crime group Kinahan, was arrested in Mallorca on Sunday night while eating with family members at a restaurant. He had flown from Dubai to Palma airport on 26 May. Another member of the Kinahan clan, Jack Kavanagh, 22, from Tamworth, Staffordshire, was arrested by Spanish National Police officers at Malaga airport on Tuesday 30 May while in transit from Dubai to Turkey. The arrests follow an NCA-led intelligence investigation, supported by the Spanish National Police and the Irish Police. During the investigation, evidence was collected from decrypted EncroChat messages. It would appear that the two were involved in the supply and sale of firearms. They are currently in detention while extradition proceedings are underway.

It never ceases to amaze me how dumb these guys are. Have they checked his Yelp reviews yet? I bet he's got a delightful review about how he single-handedly turned a five-star restaurant into a drive-thru by mistaking the gas pedal for the brake
But you had to play it cool, had to do it your way Had to be a fool, had to throw it all away

I'm suprised he would do that, Christy was known as a smart guy. In prison he studied Spanish and Dutch, which later allowed him to make better contact with other criminals.

No rats like what you see on the Italian threads, i.e. Camorra, Cosa Nostra, Ndrangheta, SCU. Unless I'm missing something, I've skimmed through several articles and I see guys taking decades in prison but nobody flipping. It has GOT to be 41-bis or something that makes Mafiosi flip so often.
Got to hand it to the Kinahans, they probably are one of the most successful drug "families" in the world, ever. They've been under constant pressure since they first got busted in Spain in 2008(or 2006?), had a lot of seizures of cash and drugs, property worth hundreds of millions confiscated, had a lot of their people arrested etc. but they're still going strong.
Daniel is also the last man standing from the so called "super cartel" that the press have been writing about. Imperiale, Rico the Chilean, Tito and Dino and Ridouan Taghi have all been caught.
They Kinahans have been operating at a high level for at least 20 years, I don't think there are many drug dealing crews as successful as them.
Daniel Kinahan 'axes dozens from his cartel payroll' leaving former key associates 'in real trouble' Underworld sources say that some of those who faced the axe were one-time key associates - and they are now skint.
An extradition agreement between Ireland and the United Arab Emirates will be signed into law next week when Justice Minister Helen McEntee flies to Abu Dhabi in a move that is sure to send a chill through the Kinahan Organization. THIS IS MASSIVE NEWS!

Yep father and sons are very worried now, but will the Irish send them to the USA? There is a $ 5 million bounty by the FBI they want them bad.
Hah! That would be the absolute worst-case scenario for them. I’d be surprised if that actually happened, but you never know. The Kinahan brothers' story is just so tragic to me. I’m not excusing their actions, but their father totally brainwashed them

Yes Christy seems a smart guy but he should have keep their sons legitimate they already had enough money in the early 2000s. Daniel could have been a topnotch boxing promoter.
I wish them the best. If it were me I would have retired at atleast 100k, start up businesses and live of it. I imagine at their level they would make millions in a month, even at 1 million dollars one could invest in properties, taxis, night clubs etc and be very wealthy.
Just to clarify to some readers who perhaps are not aware: that so-called bounty is "for information leading to each of the arrests and/or convictions of Irish transnational organized criminal Christopher Vincent Kinahan and his two sons, Daniel Joseph Kinahan and Christopher Kinahan, Jr., for participating in, or conspiring to participate in, transnational organized crime." https://www.state.gov/department-of...rish-transnational-criminals-to-justice/
In some articles (even Irish) that bounty is sometimes mistakenly interpreted as "warrant for arrest" which, of course, it is not. Furthermore, it is nonsensical, to say the least how the Irish media, particularly Nicola Tallant from sundayworld.com has been exciting and speculating about the "imminent" arrests for approx ten years when, in fact, there are zero warrants for any of them. Indeed, that bounty in itself shows that they don't have any evidence for anything and therefore the US government has launched a fishing expedition, which, too, has failed.
