wondering if anything in this article or the subsequent FBI report have any truth regarding sal cataudella.
i am aware that he is a longtime outfit member aligned w/ the cicero crew.
i was not aware that he was #2 to michael sarno as i don't think any of that info came out at sarnos 2 year trial.
it is stated and i think accurately that sarno was street boss of the outfit after marcellos imprisonment up until sarnos own indictment and 2012 sentencing.
possible that sarno stopped functioning as sb upon indictment but historically outfit admin members hold onto titles until a sentence is imposed.
making sarnos reign (2007-2012) at the most.
if cataudella was #2 to sarno in the cicero crew that would make him a soldier at most w/ sarno being both sb and capo of crew.
so how then does cataudella rise from soldier in a crew to full blown underboss in a few short years. some media reports as early as 2009 (makes no sense as sarno was still on the street) others around the time when difronzo was said to step into semi retirement and delaurentis became ab 2014/2015.

has any member of any family ever gone from soldier to underboss and completely skipped being a capo,acting capo anything?
and what is the lowdown on the alleged conflict between loyalists of sarno (presumably led by cataudella as sarno was imprisoned) in 2014 and the admin of outfit led by john difronzo.
the resolution of this conflict it appears led to delaurentis' rise to acting boss.

any insight into this from those w/ knowledge of the outfit would be appreciated.
i have followed the outfit for years and am currently getting back into researching its present situation finding it the most interesting of traditional OC groups in america.

Not looking for applause but was hoping to get some insight from those who know Chicago if anything in this chart was relevant.

There is some truth to that article. 07 to 09 is definitely an interesting time. Salvatore Cataudella was indeed Sarnos right hand man. You had John DiFronzo, Michael Sarno, Joseph Andriacchi, Marco D'Amico, Salvatore Delaurentis, Al Tornabene, Al Vena, Salvatore Cataudella and Peter DiFronzo were the big players. Sarno was feared, but Cataudella is known for being responsible. Cataudella had the back of most members and Sarno had a strong ally in Cataudella as well as Vena. DiFronzo was still the boss, but is was slipping his fingers already by that time. Cataudella is the current underboss for many reasons.
