Matteo Messina Denaro and Giovanni Motisi from Palermo among the six fugitives of "maximum danger" included in the Criminalpol list.

The list of dangerous fugitives currently includes 62 people, of which 18 affiliated with the 'Ndrangheta, 3 with the Camorra, 4 with Apulian crime and 2 with Cosa Nostra,

Much has been written about Matteo Messina Denaro in recent years. Less known to the public - but certainly not to investigators - is Giovanni Motisi. In recent years, the name of the historic boss of Pagliarelli sentenced to life imprisonment, wanted since 1993 and disappeared into thin air in 1998, has returned to the center of investigative activities in anti-mafia operations. Someone has also hypothesized its death, but there is no certainty of its suppression.

None of the collaborators of justice has ever provided information on this subject. On the contrary, in the interceptions and in the declarations of the repentants, included in the blitz of the carabinieri that led to the arrest of the new boss Giuseppe Calvaruso, we return to talk about the old mafia boss of Pagliarelli, also known as ' u Pacchiuni. "While we were detained in prison - declares the repentant Filippo Bisconti, former head of Belmonte, in the interrogation of 11 April 2019 - (Calvaruso) told me that he was accompanying Giovanni Motisi, the fugitive". In another passage - conversation intercepted on October 1, 2016 - it is Calvaruso himself who brags to an entrepreneur from Bagheria about his closeness to the boss, specifying that he and Vincenzo Cascino were «the only ones authorized to meet the fugitive (...) , from which he used to receive instructions and directives ».
