STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Ralph DiMatteo, the reputed consigliere of the Colombo family indicted in a massive federal takedown of the alleged criminal organization, escaped the grasp of authorities this week and remains free after his son posted a picture of the 66-year-old in the pool on social media, the Daily News reported.

It is not immediately known when the photo was taken, according to the report.


DiMatteo was the only individual who escaped arrest after he traveled to Florida, the report said.

“We consider him now to be a fugitive,” John Marzulli, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, told the outlet.

Fourteen people, including the entire Colombo crime family administration, were charged in Brooklyn federal court Tuesday afternoon on an indictment that included counts of labor racketeering, extortion and money laundering, the Advance/SILive.com previously reported.
