I always thought BROWN SUGAR was about HEROIN haha..
Yeah, that song's success has a lot to do with it's lyrical ambiguity. Jagger used to say it could mean many different nasty things, but it is important to note that he had initially titled the song Black Pussy
But you had to play it cool, had to do it your way Had to be a fool, had to throw it all away

It's another tequila sunrise Stirrin' slowly 'cross the sky Said goodbye He was just a hired hand Workin' on the dreams he planned to try The days go by Every night when the sun goes down Just another lonely boy in town And she's out runnin' 'round She wasn't just another woman And I couldn't keep from comin' on It's been so long Oh, and it's a hollow feelin' When it comes down to dealin' friends It never ends Take another shot of courage Wonder why the right words never come You just get numb It's another tequila sunrise This old world still looks the same Another frame

Crossroads, seem to come and go, yeah The gypsy flies from coast to coast Knowing many, loving none Bearing sorrow, havin' fun But back home he'll always run To sweet Melissa Freight train, each car looks the same, all the same And no one knows the Gypsy's name No one hears his lonely sighs There are no blankets where he lies In all his deepest dreams the Gypsy flies With sweet Melissa Again the morning's come Again he's on the run Sunbeams shining through his hair Appearing not to have a care Well, pick up your gear and Gypsy roll on, roll on Crossroads, will you ever let him go? No, no, no Will you hide the dead man's ghost? Or will he lie, beneath the clay? Or will his spirit float away? But I know that he won't stay without Melissa Yes, I know that he won't stay without Melissa

Then as it was, then again it will be And though the course may change sometimes Rivers always reach the sea Blind stars of fortune, each have several rays On the wings of maybe, down in birds of prey Kind of makes me feel sometimes, didn't have to grow But as the eagle leaves the nest, it's got so far to go Changes fill my time, baby, that's alright with me In the midst I think of you, and how it used to be Did you ever really need somebody And really need 'em bad Did you ever really want somebody The best love you ever had Do you ever remember me, baby Did it feel so good 'Cause it was just the first time And you knew you would Through the eyes an' I sparkle Senses growing keen Taste your love along the way See your feathers preen Kind of makes makes me feel sometimes Didn't have to grow We are eagles of one nest The nest is in our soul Vixen in my dreams, with great surprise to me Never thought I'd see your face The way it used to be Oh darlin', oh darlin' I'm never gonna leave you I never gonna leave Holdin' on, ten years gone Ten years gone, holdin' on, ten years gone Ten years gone, holdin' on
