The complaints of Utrecht resident Robin van O., who is a main suspect in the case of the torture containers and also a suspect in large-scale cocaine trafficking, have been 'not estimated correctly' by doctors in the penitentiary institutions of Zutphen and Leeuwarden. This is stated in an independent medical report on the development of his disease. According to that report, Van O. is no longer suitable for detention. On Tuesday it was announced that Van O. is terminally ill. He turns out to have a form of skin cancer that has spread in many places, including in the breast and lymph nodes. There is a threat of a spinal cord injury. His chest needs to be drained.

The report states the advice to let Van O. go home, insofar as home treatment is at least still possible. Van O. has since been admitted to the penitentiary hospital in Scheveningen.
