Nunzio is Joe's younger brother, and was made in at the age of 23 in 1931. He followed his brothers Joe and Salvatore into the Fish Market, Salvatore was never made and was only an associate. Joe created a union and Nunzio was one of its first members. Nunzio was known as a leg breaker, and is suspected in a few disappearances in the 1930s and 1940s. Took over twice as capo or acting capo for his brother Joe when he was locked up in 1937 to 1939, and 1943 to 1950. In the 1940s, Nunzio did not take care of the heavy work, but another crew member Carmine Russo was assigned to top hits for the crew, who was also related to the Lanzas. 1950s Nunzio was known to travel from New York to New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, and California for union business, but most likely meeting other families. Detained for questioning in homicides, disappearances, and whereabouts of fugitives. Joe Lanza died in 1968 and Nunzio took over till 1974/75 due to health. The Fulton Fish Market and union was passed on to Carmine Russo, with his nephew Romano as a front. Nunzio died in 1977.

Any known blood ties between Joe "Socks" Lanza and the San Francisco Lanzas?
