Brr a sensational but dangerous track in SA, thank god Schumacher is ok. Merc still has major problems but they will be alright within a few races I expect.
Formula 1 will go to the United States three times next year. The premier class management has now officially announced a race in Las Vegas. In November 2023, the drivers will drive on and around the world-famous Strip in the gambling city.
As the American F1 audience grows, so does its footprint on the racing calendar. Joining COTA this year will be the brand new Miami Grand Prix. Starting in 2022 the Miami International Autodrome will be home to United States’ second Formula 1 track. The Miami Grand Prix has signed a 10-year deal with F1. The new circuit is being built around Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, home to the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. The inaugural F1 Miami Grand Prix will take place on May 8th.
They've actually raced at Vegas before, but it was a while back lol
Yep in '81 and '82 it was sponsored by Caesars Palace, constructed in the parking lot of the hotel. This time it will be better a night race and F1 has grown a lot around the world. But I love the history and the wild days of the sport lol.

I picked Verstappen on my pick em on ESPN as bad as I hate to say that. Hate that bastard with a passion!
I hated to see Leclerc spin out trying to chase Perez. His eyes got too big for him and it cost him today. Merc is a freaking joke at this point, it says a lot that Russell has been top 5 in that horrible car in every race now. If people still think he wasn't worth dropping Bottas for then they don't know F1. He's legit
Leclerc spin leaves Perez in pole and Verstappen starting P9 for Miami Grand Prix 36 minutes ago
Sergio Perez took pole position for the 2023 Miami Grand Prix after a dramatic conclusion to Q3, which saw Max Verstappen qualify ninth as Charles Leclerc spun out to bring out a red flag.
The top-10 shootout saw seven teams represented and, while Verstappen had topped the first two qualifying segments, he aborted his first lap with a snap at Turn 5. Conditions were tough in the final session as winds had picked up. Perez took provisional pole in Q3 with a time of 1m 26.841s, but there was still time for Verstappen to try again.
The reigning champion equipped new tyres and emerged with just over three minutes left in an effort to make it up from P10. However, Leclerc lost his car at Turn 4 and spun into the barriers, bringing out a red flag and ending qualifying early.
That left Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso in P2 for the race while Carlos Sainz qualified third for Ferrari and Kevin Magnussen was a surprise fourth for Haas. Alpine’s Pierre Gasly took P5 ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell, leaving Leclerc seventh and Esteban Ocon eighth in the other Alpine.
As for Verstappen he qualified ninth ahead of Valtteri Bottas – neither driver having set a flying lap in Q3.
Looks like Alpha Tauri is no more after this year and will be rebranded. I’m honestly surprised it hasn’t been sold off
"AlphaTauri will have two new leaders with Laurent Mekies and Peter Bayer from 2024. There will be new sponsors and a new name. The focus is clear. The team must work more closely with Red Bull Racing, as far as the regulations allow. We are not going to more with do-it-yourself constructions going on."

No idea if it stays an Italian team.
Yea I’d be highly surprised if they moved base to be honest. I think this is just a rebrand to stay afloat and become a true sister team as RBR wants to share parts and everything like Ferrari/Haas are doing and the like. I think Andretti is going to kick himself for letting his deal fall through with Sauber because things like this show nobody is going to sell now. This team is worth too much for RBR to even sell

Michael Andretti hopes to know more about the future of his potential Formula 1 team by mid-July. According to Andretti, the link with Cadillac is much more than a sponsorship deal. Cadillac will build its own F1 engine very interesting! The plans of Audi are also interesting hopefully both manufacturers will join F1.

Audi is already in remember? They bought Sauber and will become Audi in 2026
I agree. The point in the Andretti-Cadillac case is the drop in prize money. Under the current Concorde Agreement, newcomers must pay a registration fee of USD 200 million to compensate for this loss. Some teams would like to push this amount up to 600 million dollars. Although Cadillac's entry is still a question mark, it is certain that another American brand will enter F1 in 2026. Red Bull would start with Ford in that year, with Ford largely responsible for the electrical side of the 2026 power unit.

I think GM/Caddy would have to commit before the FiA ever gets interested
As for your other post about McLaren, it’s great to see them competing again! Just wished the others would hurry up and catch Red Bull. This is getting boring now
I think this spells doom for Perez, they made sure to mention Daniel is “on loan” from RBR instead of him signing a contract with Scuderia AT. If he scores any points it’s guaranteed they sack Perez before the year is up
I agree but rumor has it Marko will make a move for Norris for next year. Good choice I think one of Max closest friends also.
I know they’re friends but this would be a huge step down for him. Going from team leader to the 2nd chair and having to live under Max in all walks of life? Think he’s better off at McLaren and waiting until Merc or Ferrari opens up
Depends on what he does after 2026 in my opinion. He’ll definitely dominate until then, but now that we’ll have Audi in the game and the engines changing somewhat I want to see what kind of car he gets from RBR. If he’s still set up then I can agree with you
Starting to get boring now. He could start dead last in that car and still win by 10 seconds
Yes most boring season of the last years, powerhouses Ferrari and Mercedes very disappointing. As a Ferrari fan I don't get it why they don't get things done anymore. Even on a track where they are competitive and fast. (Pole Position)
Berger: 'Schumacher and Hamilton are great, but Verstappen is still young' YESTERDAY, 19:21 LAST UPDATE: 20:02
Toby McLuskieEditor
Ten-time F1 winner Gerhard Berger talks to Austria's Kronen Zeitung about the big names in Formula 1. When it comes to his teammate at McLaren from 1990 to 1992, Ayrton Senna, the link to Max Verstappen is quickly made. Berger places these two drivers above Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton.
'Senna and Verstappen over Hamilton and Schumacher' And that is a remarkable comment, as 25-year-old Max Verstappen has only two F1 titles behind his name, compared to Hamilton and Schumacher's seven. Berger begins his argument: "Verstappen and Senna are unique in the sport. They are the two greatest drivers I have seen in the last 50 years."
Sky Sports reporter's iconic Ferrari GTO catches fire at Goodwood In passing, Berger provides advice to Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez: "I would leave there as soon as possible so I don't have to have anything to do with Verstappen. Every day he will probably think: 'My teammate is driving me to pieces'."
When Berger is asked what he thinks of Schumacher and Hamilton, he says: "They are also exceptional drivers. Of course, you have to look at those statistics too. They are both fantastic, but Senna died early and Verstappen is still young."
Now on to more pressing things, watching these teams keep Andretti out of F1. Anyone want to take bets? It’s a shame too because Andretti would be great for the American market (Haas is NOT an American team) and for F1. Instead they’ll cry about how it will dilute their money which is a joke
I had no idea we had discussion for F1, anyway , very boring season, its insane how better is Red Bull/Max than everybody else. It would be really good season if there would be no Max. Others are really close to each other.

Yes Max and the RB car are out of category. Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin and Mercedes are competitive. There are rumors Alonso will come to RB that would be great the 2 times world champion is still very fast and could beat Max lol..
Without Max,it would be pretty good season. I am also Ferrari fan , like most of my friends , but Ferrari is so bad honestly , better than last year but still bad , last year they had good car but very bad strategic choices. I am hoping Ferrari and Mercedes can deliver next year and we get a good season.

Big suprise Leclerc on pole position, the Ferrari's are fast. The race will be difficult but interesting.
That is the rumor, ‘Not just Daniel that wants my seat’ says Perez after Ricciardo’s star turn in Mexico. Ricciardo or not , i think this is the end for Checo , he has the best car on the grid and can't deliver. Hamilton did great, hopefully Mercedes will be back in the game next year and we get another Hamilton vs Max season.
We are all hoping to see Ferrari on top again. But i don't expect much improvement for next season , Mercedes will probably be back on top , but Ferrari not so sure.

I do think Vasseur is the right man for the job.
Fred Vasseur, Ferrari 's team principal since 2023 , has admitted that he needs the perfect team to return Ferrari to the top of Formula 1. He admits that the team is not yet close and there is still a lot to do changes are coming.
Team boss Vasseur joined the team earlier this year as a replacement for Mattia Binotto, who left at the end of 2022. Since joining the team, Vasseur has already made some changes to the leadership team, including the departure of sporting director Laurent Mekies. Mekies will become the new team boss of AlphaTauri, where many changes are also planned for 2024. It seems to be the start of even more changes within the organization of the historic Italian team.
I could totally see Ricciardo swapping seats with Checo for next year, Checo is fried and done at Red Bull.
As expected, Max runs away with it. These races get more and more predictable and nobody is catching them at a fast rate. Until the 2026 engine rules kick in, expect to see more RB domination
The Las Vegas Grand Prix got off to a false start with a cancelled first free practice session. The drivers and teams are now preparing for FP3 (in an hour).
Las Vegas promoter throws light on Verstappen's motives: "Maybe nervous?" Today, 07:30 13 comments It has been known for some time now that Max Verstappen is not a fan of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Dutchman made this clear in the media and Steve Hill, promoter of the race, has his ideas about this.
The Grand Prix of Las Vegas had to be a party, as was evident from the spectacular opening ceremony on Wednesday evening. Max Verstappen and his colleagues were welcomed as heroes and presented to the public on a large stage. Later in the evening, the Dutchman was critical of the GP weekend and stated that he looked 'like a clown' on the podium. Furthermore, it would be '99% about the show and 1% percent about the sport'. Steve Hill, CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, which promotes the race, does not understand Verstappen's statements.
"Max is acting a bit grumpy about the race," says Hill at Motorsport Magazine . "I don't know if he's a bit nervous or what, but his comments bring some extra edge to the weekend. Either way, the fans get the opportunity to see something great. A first is always important. "
Hill sees the GP weekend ending in two ways. "Maybe Verstappen will win and become a very respected winner of the first race in Las Vegas. Of course, there is also the possibility that he will be defeated. Then it is also big news. Still, I think a victory for Verstappen would be a good outcome. One of the best drivers in history will then win the first race in one of the most beautiful cities in the world."
Good action packed race, Vegas is a great venue for F1, I'm also fan of streetcourses. Ofcourse some things have to improve but I think it had a great start.
F1 may have won in Las Vegas — but changes are needed for next year
They definitely got to change the start time, it’s a joke to be that late when it gets dark early this time of year. Good racing but another boring Max win
They definitely got to change the start time, it’s a joke to be that late when it gets dark early this time of year. Good racing but another boring Max win
18 wins in a season crazy, Schumacher and Hamilton were also dominant for years, but if F1 want to attract new fans we need different winners and excitment like the year Hamilton and Verstappen fought till the end.
Well for organizes Las Vegas didn't go as planned, started with high ticker price only for prices to fall almost 35% just few days before the race and now they are getting sued for what happened on Thursday.
One of the most boring seasons of F1, lets hope next year we will have equal Mercedes,Red Bull and Ferrari.
Yes if we don’t get more winners up there on the podium we will see F1 fall big time. Fans will get tired of one guy winning every single damn race and that’s where we’re at now.
Strax, thing is RBR can send the same car out next year and still dominate. Thats how far everyone is behind currently and may be strong enough for the next two years. The only hope is the engine change for 2026. Until then it’s going to be all RBR
Verstappen set records in Formula 1 in 2023 November 26, 2023 5:35 PM Modified November 26, 2023 5:36 PM
Max Verstappen has improved one Formula 1 record after another in a sovereign season. Red Bull's world champion achieved the most victories in a single season, achieving the highest winning percentage ever, scoring the most podium finishes in a single season and scoring more World Cup points than ever. He also won with the largest points difference ever over number 2 and led the most laps in one season.
The figures confirm the unprecedented dominance of the 26-year-old Dutchman in the most important class of motorsport. With nineteen victories, he improved the record of fifteen victories, which he set in 2022. Michael Schumacher's record from 2004, which stood at thirteen victories for eighteen years, pales in comparison to the record that Verstappen further improved with his victory in the final race in Abu Dhabi.
His winning percentage is 86.36 percent with nineteen victories in 22 races. An improvement on the 75 percent of the Italian Alberto Ascari, who won six of the eight races in 1952. Verstappen also set a record this year with the most victories in a row. After victories in Miami, Monaco, Spain, Canada, Austria, Great Britain, Hungary, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy, he reached ten, one more than Sebastian Vettel's nine in a row in 2013.
A thousand rounds
Verstappen also set the record for most podium finishes in one season. The Dutchman only failed to finish on the podium in the Singapore Grand Prix this year (sixth). With nineteen victories and two second places, he set the new season record at 21 podium places. He also recorded the most victories from pole position in one season. The win in Abu Dhabi was the twelfth time that he turned first starting position into first place at the finish.
The Limburger won the championship with 575 points, the highest number ever. The gap to number 2 in the final standings, his Mexican teammate Sergio Pérez, was also larger than ever with a gap of 290 points. In passing, he added another record in the final phase of the race in Abu Dhabi by becoming the first driver in Formula 1 history to lead more than a thousand laps in one season.
I was shocked when i read this few hours ago. Biggest F1 news for a long time. I wonder what made him switch to Ferrari and how awkward this years season is going to be for him driving for Mercedes.

It will be weird for Merc this year, because you don't want to make your rivals Ferrari wiser with new things implemented. But I'm happy as a Ferrari fan.
Hell yea!!! Now my favorite two drivers are under the same umbrella! I can’t wait for 2025 to see this combo combat the evil Bulls
Time to find some Ferrari gear now
I also think this confirms the fact Mercedes missed big time yet again with the W15 car. It’s bad enough with that zero side pod bullshit and LH supposedly just done some sim work at the factory not too long ago and now this. Makes me think the W15 is just as bad or worse than the 14 which means Red Bull will dominate yet again as I seriously doubt Ferrari will blow a ton of money this year knowing LH is coming in ‘25. They’ll load up for the title then and probably win it all. I think Lewis will help them break the title streak.
Fred Vasseur and Lewis could be the perfect match and they will also push Charles Leclerc to the limits. Vasseur won the GP2 Series championship with Hamilton in 2006.
World champion can leave Red Bull if top advisor leaves Mercedes is keeping an extra eye on Max Verstappen due to 'Marko clause' MOTORSPORT
The consequences of the crisis surrounding Christian Horner at Red Bull Racing may be incalculable for the team. After the first rumors about a flirt between Mercedes and Max Verstappen, it appears that the three-time world champion can leave Red Bull much earlier than expected due to a special clause in his contract. Top advisor Helmut Marko plays a crucial role in this.
Verstappen's super deal, signed in 2022, runs until 2028 and it is no surprise that it contains (performance) clauses. But now it appears that the Limburger is free to go where he wants after every year, if top advisor Helmut Marko leaves the team. Several sources around the top team confirmed this after earlier reporting from F1-Insider and Bild . Verstappen's manager Raymond Vermeulen does not want to respond to the story.
Max Verstappen may leave Red Bull if Helmut Marko is removed from team Verstappen: ‘If such a pillar falls away, that is not good for me’ Marko is believed to be under investigation over media leaks
Andrea Stella, team boss of McLaren - which finished third and fourth during the F1 Grand Prix of Australia - already saw after Friday in Melbourne that Red Bull did not have the pace in terms of race pace that McLaren and Ferrari did. There was a reason for this.
In conversation with Motorsport-Total, Stella said that it is difficult to estimate per race weekend whether there will be problems with tire degradation and which team will have the most problems with tire degradation. "If you know someone who has enough expertise to explain these situations well, I would hire them without any hesitation. In Bahrain, Red Bull was the only team that could use the soft tires without any problems. However, in Bahrain you have no problems of graining. You cannot get graining in Bahrain, because the asphalt there does not provide enough grip to load the tires to the extent that there is enough pressure on the tires to cause graining."
Verstappen is still the -350 favorite (bet $350 to win $100) in the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix odds, while Sainz and Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc are 11-1. Verstappen's Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez is 12-1, while McLaren's Lando Norris rounds out the top five in this week's F1 odds at 20-1.
The China GP is back also a sprint race on Saturday. Lando Norris set the fastest time during a chaotic sprint qualifying, Lewis Hamilton will also start the sprint race from the front row.
He will leave in 2025. I also read the crazy rumor Mercedes will make Verstappen an offer of 128 million British pounds per year. There may be talks this weekend at the Miami GP.
With the departure of master designer Adrian Newey from Red Bull Racing, the scenario that Jos Verstappen predicted earlier this year may become reality. The father of the Formula 1 world champion is now sounding the alarm about the situation at the racing stable.
"The team is in danger of falling apart. I was afraid of that earlier this year," Jos Verstappen tells De Telegraaf . "It is important for internal peace that key figures remain on board. That is not the case now."
By this he refers to the departure of Adrian Newey. "He is leaving and earlier this year it also looked like Helmut (Marko, ed.) would be sent away. That is not good for the future."
While everything is going well on the track at Red Bull, there is chaos behind the scenes at the racing stable. Christian Horner was charged with inappropriate behavior towards an employee of the team and he and Marko do not get on well together.
Marko is known for being a key figure within Red Bull for Max Verstappen's camp. The world champion is extremely attached to the Austrian advisor within the team.
It was announced today that Ocon won’t be coming back to Alpine next year
Renault needs to just sell out to Andretti at this point. They’re a mess over there but I agree Ocon deserved some punishment for that idiotic move at Monaco

I believe Nick Chester is already working for Andretti. They have to work it out with Formula One Management before Renault want to talk with Andretti again.
Great to see that idiot take himself out of the race today but it sucked that he took Norris out with him. To see his interview after the race is the reason I can’t stand Max, he still refuses to take blame but of course he said he’d look at it. Will be interesting to see what he has to say later.
Horner crying on the radio to kiss Max’s ass afterwards as too damn funny. He begs for that type of racing then blames everyone so it’s not surprising to see Max act the same way
It is a difficult first chapter in their friendship, if it lasts. Norris after all indicated that it depends on Verstappen's attitude whether the friendship will survive. If he were to admit guilt, he would retain some respect for Verstappen.
But will Verstappen do that? Will he apologize? David Coulthard thinks he knows the answer to that: "Only when hell is freezing over."
"Max will always keep shouting 'this is hard racing'. This is the first time that Lando has to deal with wheel-to-wheel battles weekend after weekend. We remember how it went when Verstappen took on Lewis Hamilton . Max is simply one of the hardest racers. To beat him, you have to become his equal."
I think he’s done. I still think Horner wants Ricciardo at RB and he sends Lawson to RB Junior. I don’t think he wants a rookie running the main car, Perez has cost them a fortune now
I haven't seen Max so frustrated and angry with the team as now he probably will become Champion again but I don't see his dominance return soon good for F1 though.
Was sooooooo sweet to hear him cry and whine Sunday, especially when he divebombed Hamilton then cried because he took himself out in the process. F1 is 1000x better when this asshole doesn’t win

Haha this weekend at the old school track Spa there will be also another winner hopefully Norris he can put the heat on Max in the Championship. Verstappen will use a new internal combustion engine (ICE) at Spa-Francorchamps which comes at the cost of a 10-place grid penalty.
Belgian Grand Prix winner George Russell faces disqualification as his Mercedes Formula 1 car was found to be underweight after having its fuel drained in post-race checks. Hamilton will be the winner.
Great strategy by Mercedes though, good to see four teams competing again. Verstappen has not won in four races.
SO fun watching RB implode now, Jos said this would happen if they kept Horner in the top spot.
I can't believe RB is keeping Perez!
Also Williams getting Sainz was huge for them
Several international media reports that Red Bull Racing will put Daniel Ricciardo and Liam Lawson to work next week to identify a possible replacement for Sergio Perez . Visa Cash App RB will provide the cars at the Imola circuit for the two drivers to impress. Within the top of Red Bull there is still disagreement about which driver would be the best option.
Worried Red Bull admits: "The situation is starting to get serious" Max Verstappen had to settle for seventh place in qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix. Helmut Marko therefore sounds the alarm and calls the situation 'serious'.
"We have to find the moment where we took the wrong turn," Marko told Sky DE . "You have to look at Miami, because then we were still dominant. The races that Max won after that, he won because of his qualities. But with the complexity of these cars it is very difficult. Thank God we have some time towards the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, because now it was practically impossible to implement anything. But the situation is starting to get serious."
Does Red Bull have a problem now that Adrian Newey is leaving? "Newey is no longer fully involved in the process. That is a factor we need to look at, but we have a broad base. It is true that his experience and knowledge could certainly have helped in this situation."
Mama Mia what a race! Glad to see Leclerc get another win and at Monza of all places
Meanwhile watching Red Bull suffer even more makes it so much sweeter!
But McLaren choked away a huge points swing day, if Oscar didn’t get so jumpy on the start and they come out 1/2 they would have finished that way. Instead they have to settle for 2/3. I still think they should have given team orders for Norris to pass Oscar at the end, Norris would have gained 3 more points on Maxi Pad. They were under no threat from Sainz
Adrian Newey has signed a multi-year contract with Formula 1 team Aston Martin. The legendary designer, who is leaving Red Bull Racing after almost twenty years, is expected to be unveiled next week in the run-up to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
I still can't believe Ferrari let him slip through their fingers yet again. You'd think all these years of them trying to fight back and take over the WDC and the team title they would have given him whatever he wanted but maybe Lewis' new salary scared them some. We're seeing now just how important Newey is after watching RB fall this fast this quickly. It's either that or Horner is more of an asshole than I thought and everyone is turning on him. Those are the only two explanations for how quick they fell.

I still believe the extension of Perez contract and still continuing with him after the break is a crucial mistake. Jos Verstappen is right on so many points.
Lando Norris, Max Verstappen Brace for F1 Showdown at COTA Formula 1 United States Grand Prix preview: McLaren, Red Bull take next step in what's becoming an epic battle
Norris shit the bed for the sprint race and what not and blew a huge chance to gain a lot of points. Instead, Norris lucks into the poll for today (he better buy Russell a drink because Max had 2 purple sectors before the flags came out) but the bad news is 2nd place generally leads the first lap at COTA. I’d be surprised if Max doesn’t get the lead early and run away with this one, much like the sprint!
I picked the right weekend to buy F1 tv and watch Maxipad act like an idiot again LOL. Was sooooooo great watching him get punished for driving like the idiot that he is. Was too damn sweet!

One of the best races by Max ever from 17th to First and probably securing his fourth world titel in a row.
Verstappen gets his revenge at the press conference. “I appreciate you being here, but I don’t see any British media? Did they have to go to the airport already? Or do they not know where the press conference is…?”
