Been watching A TON of TV lately:

-THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT (Disney +) was meh. Didn't really care for it until the final 3 episodes when The Mandolorian finally showed up.
-PEACEMAKER (HBO Max) was also kinda meh. Very funny, music from the 80's but I'd heard almost none of it. Not bad but not great. Would still check out a second season though.
-PAM & TOMMY (Hulu) is amazing! Disappointed there's only one episode left. Lily James & Sebastian Stan are killing it in these roles!
-JOE VS CAROLE (Peacock) I just started watching on Peacock. I'm only one episode in and so far, I'm not overly impressed. Again, not bad but nothing that has me itching for the next episode like some of the other shows I've seen lately (although I will finish this out). Story already seems rushed and I'm only 1 episode in.
-WINNING TIME: THE RISE OF THE LAKERS DYNASTY (HBO Max) premiered on Sunday on HBO Max and I thoroughly enjoyed it! This is a show I'll eagerly be anticipating next week. The actors look marvelously like the people they're playing (especially Quincy Isiah as Magic Johnson, John C. Reilly as Dr. Jerry Buss, and Jason Clark as Jerry West).

Once I wrap up PAM & TOMMY, I'll begin watching THE DROPOUT on Hulu staring Amanda Seyfried about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes.

Binged THE DROPOUT on Hulu this weekend. Wonderful performances by both Amanda Seyfried and Naveen Andrews as both Elizabeth Holmes and Sunny Balwani respectively as this deals with the Theranos scandal. Worth a watch if you have Hulu or are interested in the story although be warned, coming in at only 8 episodes, it is a simplified version of the story.

Watched Better Call Saul last night. Final season off to a good start

Won't be able to watch it until Friday but I'm looking forward to it.

Just finished watching the last 7 episodes of OZARK and dang it, did it end on a great note. Fantastic show that I will miss but glad it got out before it got stale.

FIRESTARTER (1984)

This was my first viewing of the original film in anticipation of the remake dropping next weekend. Based upon the Stephen King novel, the film follows Andrew (David Keith) and Charlie McGee (Drew Barrymore). Andrew has telepathic abilities while his daughter Charlie is pyrokinetic. A government agency known as The Group wants to capture and study Charlie and unlock her secret powers to potentially use her as a weapon. The premise is interesting and I love looking back at a film that is now 38-years-old and the way America looked back then. A stellar cast helps support this with Charlie Sheen, George C. Scott, and Heather Locklear all in their prime. However, the film for me drags in many parts, repeating itself at times and could have benefited from a tighter runtime. Not a bad film but very mediocre outside of 9-year-old Barrymore's outstanding performance! 5.5/10

THE GIRL FROM PLAINVILLE

A Hulu series based upon the "texting suicide" case of Michelle Carter and Conrad Roy III. A terribly tragic story about two youts who suffer from mental illness. Conrad, having tried to commit suicide previously, is having the same urges again and is being talked into following through this time by his girlfriend Carter. A legal case that set precedent in this country, the story is again tragic but the series comes off as average. Elle Fanning who plays Carter and Chloë Sevigny who plays Conrad's mom Lynn, are really the only 2 of note. Otherwise, this is a passable but forgettable telling of this tale. 6/10

Binged MOON KNIGHT this weekend on Disney+ and this series is the ETERNALS version of Marvel TV. At just 6 episodes, the story never hooked me and it was painful to finish. While I like Oscar Isaac as an actor, the only redeeming quality of this entire series was Ethan Hawke, who plays the villain. Outside of that, avoid this at all costs!
