If a guy is put on the shelf, no made guys are allowed to attend his wake. Mancuso personally shelved the guy and then he sends 3 made guys to his wake ??? Makes no sense. Had to be a reason. I don't know about no made guys being allowed to attend a shelved guys funeral. You may be correct, but I think when they die the shelving is (Obviously) over and things things are forgotten. No one can say what happened for sure at that funeral, Capeci backed off a little at first, but he must read these sites, or he was pressured to go with the story. He really laid it on heavy, using terms like "Beat down" and saying other things that are no so professional. Like he took any questioning personally. The selling had to be over a feud, if the guests were there to pay respects, the family should have accepted them. The biker story will not be the last time we see a biker vs Mafia story, since the movie A Bronx Tale made it a major scene.

So what I am gathering from all this is:
When someone is told, Once your are in, there is only one way out.....You are in this life till you die. BUT, an orchestrated shelving (by a sly member) could be a power play for a member who just had enough of the life.
Interesting! Cunning! Deceptive! "Technically" that's correct. Once in, you're in for life. Meaning you are always a "member" But many, many members (thousands) have "aged" out and just retired when the got into their late 60s and 70s. Not all mafioso stay active all their lives. Especially those who make a lot of money and become wealthy. After awhile, many say to themselves, "what do I need this for anymore?" Of course there are many others who stay active until the day the die. It's really a very personal decision, often based on wealth, power, influence, (or the lack thereof), and the "need" or the member involved.

There are those who are older who do kind of erudite even though they tell you there is no retirement when inducted but we’ve seen it. Yes there are also those who stick around forever because it’s all they know

No one knows the answer? Why did The Bonanno’s send made guys to the wake of a guy( Vito Grimaldi) that was put on the shelf??? Usually its the opposite. There had to be a reason why Mancuso, who put Vito Grimaldi on the shelf decides to send made guys to his wake and pay respect.. why ??? I wanted to make a separate post about this. In a Gangster Report article its write that Vito Grimaldi was still respected even he was shelved and that Mancuso doesnt want that the other shelved mobsters pay respect to Grimaldi. Now a reasonable person would have let it go but as Mancuso is not very respected as a boss so he had to flex his muscles and maked a fool of himself as it looked like the Bronx Tale scene but with the bikers winning this time around. Now Mancuso can't retaliate because risk to turn back to prison and its more less respected as boss.

It may not have been a biker gang.

In the article are cited the black piston mc a recruiting club for the outlaws that is 1% mc,so for sure arent "off work accountants or school teachers" and beaten up 4 mobsters so arent white collar workers.

Obliviously Mancuso and/or any of the other members of the Bonanno family that were at the wake and assaulted Joe C, weren't expecting him to have back up on call. I never heard a case where a Shelved guy fought back.. That takes BALLS
Mancusco is so FUCT right now.
His only viable option is a hospital beating for Joe C. Even if the feds are onto him for it.
If he and his crew are unsuccessful the 2nd time around then they should put themselves on a shelf and hand the reins over to Joe C.
if he does nothing he will be more of a laughing stock than he is today.
Sources say that Cammarano, 62, his brother Dino, 63, and the bikers who came to Joe C's aid, left at least a trio of Bronx-based mobsters, capos John (Johnny Mulberry) Sciremammano, 65, Ernest (Ernie) Aiello, 42, and soldier John Spirito, Jr. 40, bloodied and battered on the floor of the funeral parlor when they left.
Mancuno should retaliate even again the dozen bikers that helped Cammaranos to beat the trio.
