Members of that faction included Angelo (Angelo Yale) Ioele - Frankie Yale's kid brother, Anthony (Little Augie Pisano) Carfano, Joseph (Joe Adonis) Doto, Joseph (Joe Tobin) Scarpinito, Toddo's brother, and many others.

Thanks NYM for the great info. I think Little Augie also had close connections to Chicago.

You're very welcome TD...and I'm sure Little Augie was connected to Chicago, and by extension, because they were a part of that 'napolitani' Camorra crew, all the others were too no doubt.

You see, more than the four Families in NYC, the Luciano/Genovese crew, because of their underboss Vito Genovese himself (who was napolitani) were always heavily composed of many napolitani/calabrese members, aside from all the Sicilians that were also powers in the family.

And in turn, dating to the very days of Frankie Yale, Toddo Dell, and the others mentioned (and many I did not mention), they were 'compare' with their napolitani brethren in Chicago, Torrio, Capone, etc.

But I'm preaching to the choir here, lol. Because you know all that already TD.

In fact, there were many crews led by 'non-sicilian' capos in that family. Some of which, were among the most powerful in that borgata...and throughout the city of NY in fact.

Besides Newark or NJ, heres some additional info regarding Alex's dealings in New York in general. It seems the feds needed at least 3 or 4 years (from 1962 until 1966) just to find out about his business over there, which was allegedly union racketeering, besides often using the city as departure point to Europe. For a nationally known gangster at the time, the guy was obviously still very elusive.

Yeah the early Non-Sicilians are fascinating. Genovese may have been a member of the camorra or some similar organization. Angelo DeCarlo talked about the organization, it was called the "cobaneesh" (or something similar).

Also it seems that Alex was sometimes accompained to NY by one of his mentors and old time Capone member Eddie Vogel who also had his fingers in the unions on a national level...

Heres also another info regarding two guys allegedly from New Jersey, Mike and Sam Alfano who allegedly also had interests in one of Alex's joints the Chez Parisian. In fact this joint was overseen by another Outfit associate, pimp and blood relative of Alex, known as Louis Arger. The interview was made with Chinatown member Charles "Chappie" Bertucci who in turn was related to the Roti and Caruso families, and obviously denied everything, although he mentioned the NJ guys....

Do we know who Mike and Sam Alfano were? These guys were allegedly from New York or Jersey and operated in Chicago. They probably belonged to the Newark aka Genovese family, since there were also other Newark/Genovese associates who also operated in Chicago, but the name "Alfano" brings me some memories from the so-called Pizza Connection, or regarding Pietro Alfano who in turn was a Sicilian dope dealer stationed in Oregon, Illinois. Are there any blood connections between these fellas?
