Lou_Para OP L Underboss Joined: May 2013 Posts: 1,525	PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The son of Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala was arrested. Stephen John Zappala is facing simple assault and harassment charges. Ohio Township police say they were notified about a domestic dispute at his home in Ben Avon Heights. They found a victim with physical evidence that supported the allegation, according to the criminal complaint. He was released on non-monetary bond and will go before the court in early August. Update: 8/10 The charges against Zappala were dismissed today,according to his attorney Charles Porter JR Does that name ring a bell? There have been long time suspicions that DA Zappala has Mob ties. Funny that the son of the former Pittsburgh underboss is his attorney. There could literally be a book about the Zappala/Pittsburgh Mob connections,but I thought that some of the "Burgh guys" would get a kick out of this.

Millspgh Capo Joined: May 2017 Posts: 261	Very good stuff Lou, and yes that’s no coincidence that Zappala’s lawyer is Chucky Jr , that’s Family history together. Another thing- Zappala’s dad represented Robert Liscio in the big 1990 trial, he was a low level co-defendant of Chucky Sr in that case. Last edited by Millspgh; 08/10/23 09:22 PM.

Millspgh Capo Joined: May 2017 Posts: 261	Here is a motion from Zappala on behalf of Robert Liscio before the start of the big 1990 Porter/Raucci/etc Pgh Mob trial, motion for discovery. You can see he wrote this motion and signed in on the 2nd page. Chucky Jr was a consultant on his dads legal team but was not working the case officially. Chucky Jr did represent his Dad when it came time to try and get him released in 2000. This is just to show the relationships and interwining lives of the Zappala's and Porter's and Pgh mob family.
